About Me

CURRENT MISSION

PEREGRINATION of the world. Interested in seeing more of the world and meeting people along the way, to make a memorable trip

ABOUT ME

Sam: simple guy really...i just graduated from college studied anthropology in a cultural/social perspective, along with Urban studies emphasis in land use planning. I was looking for a break from school and working part time as a waiter. so i decided to take what savings i had and go see some of the world. I really wanted to explore be independent, and get away from all the chaos in the city. I got tired of the same routine. On my journey I always keep an open mind to continue learning. I would like to spread hospitality as it has been shown to me all my life. I feel very blessed. You must also know... I have a passion for food as i grew up with two parents that really love to cook. Very thankful to be who I am and where I am in my life. Thankful for the ability to travel... Adventurous and always up for something new and exciting. you could also say thoughtful, respectful, friendly, helpful, smile a lot and love to laugh. you have to laugh it makes life so much more fun... open minded and easy going. Done some traveling before but would love to try couch surfing. Sounds like a very cool idea, and a great way to make friends around the world.

Shanna: HI =)
I recently graduated from SFSU as well, studied Business Administration with a concentration in Management and a minor in Decision Sciences aka MIS. I got a job out of College as the Finance Specialist and realized... what am i doing?? im young and still ready to be out in the world. With the encouragement of my family and of course Sam... i have arrived and feel that i made the right choice. =)
Other than that Im outgoing, friendly, sunny and upbeat, organized, responsible, i love to smile and laugh, i love eating good food, watching good movies, and reading. i love my family dearly and wouldnt be who i am without them. I love and believe in continuously growing and learning, as well as getting to know new people. i consider myself open minded and adventurous. of course, its always better to actually meet me and get to know me to form your own opinions =)

US: We could just go hostel to hostel, but we are interested in this couch surfing culture. At first we were kind of intimidated by the whole concept, but I (Sam) met a couple of people along my trip that have inspired us to try it.

PHILOSOPHY

anything greatly pursued is a great accomplishment. you are where you are today because that's where your suppose to be.
you can never fail if you have never tried, life is a learning experience that we must explore trying to learn as much as possible every day.
keep an open mind. spread positivity.
never measure greatness from the time in which it is accomplished.

Everything happens for a reason.

So these are the days of our lives.

WE CAN ALTER OUR LIVES SIMPLY BY ALTERING OUR ATTITUDES OF MIND. -William James

do more than exist: Live
do more than touch: Feel
do more than look: Observe
do more than read: Absorb
do more than hear: Listen
do more than listen: Understand
do more than think: Reflect
do more than just talk: Say Something

Music, Movies, and Books

Sam: I love Movies i'll watch almost anything, i can't ever remember titles, actors, directors, etc to save my life...i think it is a family trait. haha. this goes for Music and books as well...But i like all types of music, keeping tabs on stuff i like in my notebook...books i don't actually read much, but i've been getting good recommendations, and when i do read, i enjoy it

Shanna: I love movies and can spend all day watching them. Currently i love Beauty and the beast, Amelie, the Count of Monte Cristo, Closer, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Step-Brothers, Enchanted, Italian Job, etc... I also especially loveeeee reading. I was named after a book, so i think that says a lot =). i love Harry Potter and have just finished the Stephanie Meyer series. As for music, i love music, but i never know who sings what or the what songs are what.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sam: I did a 12 mile hike along the coast of Kauai, Snorkeling trip around Bora Bora, Graduating College, being at the top of the Eiffel tower for sunset, being a role model for my cousin, fishing off the dock of Caye caulker, Actun Tunichil Muknal tour in San Ignacio (Cayo district) in Belize. I think life is amazing...

Shanna: Quit my job and started backpacking =), catching a barracuda on my first cast off the dock of Caye Caulker, Experiencing the amazing cave tour ATM in San Igancio, Belize (also), riding an elephant in Thailand, read the last Harry Potter book in a day, continuously enjoying my life and the people and sights

Teach, Learn, Share

This is a deep question...haha

Keep constantly learning, read a book, listen to some one talk, go travel to another country...life is about learning, whether it is learning about yourself, or others.

and of course to simply enjoy life, break out of those traditional boundaries built by societies that create a cycle of conformity. Do what you want, Do things for you because it makes you happy...but in a respectful manner to others. and for those people that aren't enjoying life, do something different.

everyone has a purpose in life and exploring, taking risks, and adventuring into the unknown is part of the process. Never be afraid to do new things.

learn how to be independent and show Responsibility
