About Me
It's been a while, but after a couple of years settling back home after months and years of travelling (and discovering a new-found life in a pretty little Australian country town), I'm finally dusting off this old account. But despite my seemingly endless student days coming to an end, and re-discovering my love of the bush and this country I call home, that ol' travel bug is still kicking around. So now it's time for my next adventure - a move across the seas to Canada, to study fire and community resilience at UBC (and fall in love with all the northern forests along the way).
I've worked as an ecologist, so my work and a love of the outdoors go hand in hand. That being said, I'm a city girl at heart - and one of my favourite parts about travelling is discovering a new city and uncovering its secrets. I love meeting new people wherever I go - it's the people I've met on all my travels that have made them so special.
Good friends, good (vegetarian!) food and good music are all you need for a great night. I love photography, cooking, reading, people watching, and festivals where I can dance all day and all night under the stars... and of course traveling this big wide world
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I was living and travelling overseas I couch surfed around Europe and Turkey, trying to give and share as much to my hosts as they could to me. From my first initiation into a beautiful CS community in Krakow, to Norwegian Halloweens; from night time tours of the old back streets of Perugia, to celebrating NYE Berlin style..... each of my CS experiences has given me lasting memories, and in many cases lasting friendships, that are the reason I keep coming back.
Interests
Music, dancing, travelling, studying, learning new languages, photography, cooking, gardening, being a bit of a plant geek, hiking/scuba diving/getting out in the great outdoors, and most of all my friends and family

Music, Movies, and Books
Music..can't live without it! My taste is ever evolving and has varied from tech to folk, indie to drum and bass, and everything in between. But my love of some good ol' fiddle will never die
Movies...anything quirky and original. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaptation (I would love to get inside Charlie Kauffman's head), Science of Sleep, Amelie, Candy. Pan's Labyrinth made me believe in magic again.
Books...by Richard Flanagan, JM Coetzee, Milan Kundera, Tim Winton, Alice Munro, Haruki Murakami....but always after a good recommendation!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walking the four day trek to Machu Picchu, Peru. Learning to scuba dive off the tiny tropical island of Pulau Weh, Indonesia. Trekking and tracking wild orang utans in the wilderness of Northern Sumatra. Moving half way around the world, and finding a second home and friends for life in the beautiful city of Copenhagen, Denmark. It's a big wide world out there, so this is only the beginning
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook a mean vegie curry, teach you that there is more about Australian culture than kangaroos and Croc Dundee, am always up for an outdoor adventure, and love nothing more than to share stories.
