About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make it to California and back to NJ in a month.

ABOUT ME

I was working as a Bank Teller and decided to take the semester off from college so I could transfer to a different school in the spring. Unfortunatly, before I decided to leave school, I had handed in a letter of resignation to my job, thinking I wouldn't have the time for it with school. By the time I said I didn't want to leave, they had already filled my position.

I still have a part time job baby-sitting a local family, and I'm picking up some hours at a Chinese resturant.

I've always wanted to drive cross-country and I think this might be the only time I will be able to. I have money saved up from the bank, and I have no job, school, family or kids tying me down. From here on out I feel like my life will be filled with school, work and trying to make a family. I want to take advantage of my dream and do the trip.

With gas prices what they are, it would be cheaper to fly, but I'm hoping to save some money and get an awesome experience, seeing the country and meeting cool people.

PHILOSOPHY

I've been trying to figure this out for awhile myself. Here's rough idea of my philosophy, but it is ever changing as I pick up no sources of information and hear no ideas.

I believe nothing in this life will break. No matter how bad a situation seems, no matter how hurt I get, as long as I'm alive, things can't be that bad. Most things are just a speed bump.

I believe in karma, and I like to believe everything is connected. Not just instances, but everything on earth...people, plants, animals, air.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I won't be able to give my couch out for people to stay. I still live at home and my mom can be....peculiar...when it comes to strangers. But as soon as I'm in a dorm or an apartment, I'd love to offer up my couch.

So for now I'm totally down for meeting up with people stopping by NJ and I'm hoping to be able to crash on some people's couches and meet interesting people as I go cross country.

Interests

I'm a pretty easy going guy. I'm not a huge partier, but I do enjoy having fun. I enjoy getting together with friends and hanging out, watching a movie, eating, and just laughing and having a good time. I love to read and watch movies, and thoroughly enjoying hiking.

Music plays a huge part in my life, and I love listening and making it. I've been slowly building a make-shift studio in my basement, recording everything from techno, to death metal, to hip hop and everything in between.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most of my time is spent watching movies, listening to music, reading books, or doing all 3 at once. I could sit here and make a list 10 pages long, but I'll try to keep it short.

Movies-The Dark Knight, I <3 Huckabees, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Professional, American History X, Borat, Billy Madison, Casablanca, City of God, 12 Angry Men, Seven Samuri...everything

Music-American Nightmare, Daft Punk, Wu-Tang Clan, Heiroglyphics, The Hope Conspiracy, pageninetynine, Jedi Mind Tricks, Death Cab For Cutie, Al Green, Beethoven, A Tribe Called Quest, Trophy Scars

Books-Shogun, Twilight Series, Chuck Palahnuik books, We Die Alone, Dracula, Angels and Demons, I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell, My Horizontal Life, I Am America:And So Can You

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't think I've done anything quite amazing, I think just living life and being happy can be an amazing accomplishment. I feel like so many people get caught up in the monotony of work and family life they forget about what use to make them happy.

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing I hope I can share is a listening ear. I've always been able to listen to peoples problems, let them vent and offer up some sort of advice. I like trying to help people, and it makes me feel good to know I helped someone in some way.

I hope I can learn more about the country, and the people in it. Where I live is a bit of a socio-econimic bubble, and I'd like to see what else is out there and learn more about myself.
