ABOUT ME

Spontaneous, a bit rebellious sometimes - I really have the urge to sing songs from Annie at the top if my lungs in the skyscraper & mostly silent open plan workplace I spend my week days in!

I'm Aussie, been living o/seas for too long while and happy to be home but oh how I miss salt & vinegar hula hoops from the UK, masala dosa from India and Papua New Guinean yams ... actually the Papua New Guinean yams bit is stretching the truth, after two years of consistently eating yams I can think of many other things I'd like to do with a yam!

My hubby Max is still in India and we're working on getting him out here ...in the meantime I'm trying to get settled again and rediscovering my city.

PHILOSOPHY

'Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in a square hole, the ones who see things differently. They're not full of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you cannot do is ignore them, because they change things. They push the human race forward, and whilst some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who'll do it.'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not able to host just yet as I'm staying with my brother until I sort myself out.

I used to organise CS meetings for travelling Couch Surfers in Kerala and hope to be able to do that here.

I'm happy to show you around the Dandenong mountains - I'm always looking for walking partners although got to admit I'll only actually go on a walk if there is a pub at the end of it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been involved in couchsurfing for many years, mainly in the UK. Where I have mostly hosted.

I've only had positive experiences of couchsurfing, all be it sometimes strange, carving vegetables and drinking lots of red wine on a Saturday night just one experience - a bit ridiculous but it turned into one of the most memorable nights.

I truly believe in couchsurfing, and spread the word to whoever will listen to me! And its just a great way to meet a range of different people whose paths might not have crossed otherwise.

Interests

Singing, gigs, cooking, travel, can't go past an op shop without popping in, fixing up old furniture, meeting new people ...I'm trying to convince myself that running is also an interest!

Movies - now I'm back in Oz I'm a bit numbed by the choice - its been Bollywood or Malayalam movies all the way for the last two years. Got lots to catch up on but love a good Aussie movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one amazing thing? But I'm a teacher so there have been so many! Groan! but I still enjoy seeing young people get inspired to change the world.

Running a restaurant in India is pretty amazing, the hardest thing I have ever done ... and I have lots of crazy stories I can share involving police corruption & intimidation ... It would make a good movie, can Kate Winslet play me?
