ABOUT ME
From 2007-2009, my husband and I were community economic development volunteers with the Peace Corps (PCVs) living in a small Hungarian town in the Transylvania part of Romania. In 2011-2012, we were Peace Corps Volunteers in a rural community in Nyanza Province, Kenya, about 45 minutes from Kisumu. We had a wonderful assignment teaching at a girls' secondary school. We went back to the same area in Kenya last year for six months to work on a math initiative and to see our former students graduate. Prior to our Peace Corps service, I was an attorney and manager with the US Department of Labor and my husband was a management consultant. We are now retired and are enjoying a full range of activities including volunteer work, traveling whenever possible, staying fit by kayaking, skiing, swimming, hiking, etc. and spending time with our friends and family.
PHILOSOPHY
Not all who wander are lost. Enjoy all of life's experiences.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have couchsurfed in Africa, Europe and the US and have hosted while in the US.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've had excellent experiences with all of the couch surfer hosts we've stayed with and we enjoy hosting ourselves. Most of our hosting experiences have also been excellent. We strongly believe couchsurfing experiences are best when guests are interested in getting to know their hosts. Please do not contact us if you are only looking for a free bed. Also, do not contact us unless you have a completed profile and references. We are very happy to host but need to know something about our guests in advance.
