ABOUT ME

I think that what is characteristical about me is that I'm very open minded. At least that's what people say about me ;) Oh yeah, and I'm gay. So girls it's fine and guys, I don't bite. :)

I like travelling and discovering many places, mainly around Europe (for the moment ;) - I'm trying to visit every country in EFTA/UE/CoE. I'm quite happy when I travel alone but it's cool to meet people from and on all over the world.

I'm politically active and open to almost any philoso-political ideas as long as one can defend its own ideas with tolerance and respect :) Since May 2013, it's my second part-time job : I'm a political adviser for a center-left and progressive Parliamentary Group at the French National Assembly.

And I'm into Music, Writing (books, scripts and articles) and Film Making. This last activity is my "wonderful" other "part-time" job :D And I know I'm very lucky to be able to live with this job. Not as Spielberg, actually very very ... very far of Spielberg's salary, but I'm still free enough to work, travel and discover new people, new countries and new cultures.
My AFS exchange year in New Zealand (1998-1999) made me more open to new cultures, I think. Well, sometimes, I'm still a «redneck» but I like meeting people from other cultures and other countries.

I'm of Swiss nationality and have also an Overseas Citizenship of India, along with my Swiss passport. And I've been naturalised French on October 30, 2013 after almost 8 years of papers, deceptions, hopes and administration's nightmare.

So I could say that I'm a Swiss-Indo-French guy. Yay !! :D

PHILOSOPHY

Treat people the same way you want to be treated. I think it's pretty much what could resume myself. I'm Open-minded, interested in Others, I think that meeting people at a corner of a street is great as we get to share sometimes unexpected minutes of the day and this is just cool :)
I love wondering about the "What life does he/she has got until this precise moment I see this unknown person" - that's probably a "Professional Failure" of inventing stories ;)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to travel "at home" with visitors and also like to meet other people open minded and easy going open to talk about anything and everything, (but you *need* to talk LOL) from all various countries.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosting people I met during seminars and friends' friends. With CS, I've been hosted by Viktorija in Lithuania for two days during summer 2009, and this first experience was great. I hosted a few times also:
Walter from Berlin Germany, Manu from Brest/Toulouse France, Jaime from Hawaï USA, Homayoon from Louvain Belgium, Lieven from Belgium too, Viktorija from Lithuania, two years after being hosted by her, and finally Vera (Gopo) from Romania, one year after being hosted by her.

Interests

Film making (Wohhh), Photography (Wohhh bis), Watching Films (Ahhhh), Writing film critics (Ohhh), History (Oh?), Geography (Ah, Yeah!), Travels (Of Course, Tss), Politics (No way?!) , Eastern Europe (But Why Oh Why?), former communist countries (For Historical Background, Only :) - hanging around with friends, learning foreign languages, writing articles, novels and scripts. (What Else?)

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything but horror movies. Wait. Actually, yes, sometimes, I like it... Only when I'm not alone :P (Yeah whatever, as if you never have been sleeping your head under the sheets after seeing horror movies... No? Ok well... I'm ashamed right now. ;)

Otherwise, I like all kind of movies and I do watch EVERYTHING.. Everything! Going from the Creepy Holywood Film to the Bollywood Blockbuster, the Swiss Boring Film and the French Mental-Masturbation ArtShit and much more :) Listening to Indie and Rock, House sometimes. Reading books about History, Countries and Flags. Wikipedia is probably the "book" I read the most, for everything and anything, knowing not everything is true... ;) I'm also an active contributor on Wikipedia in English and French.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My AFS Year in New Zealand in 1998-1999 was great. I also went to Auschwitz in 2008, on an unscheduled trip not planned at all, with a one way ticket to Slovakia and no planned travel for 4 days ahead of me. I ended up in Krakow and in Auschwitz (Poland). I loved Krakow and was very moved in Auschwitz. I was a bit alone on myself, but that was a true traveling experience.
During Summer 2011, on my way back from the USA, I spend 2 days in Reykjavik - Iceland and fell in love with the city. I just wanna now go back and discover the country! Iceland, I Love You !

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach politics and film history. Want to learn History and politics of your country. I might share some vexillologic skills I have ;) (vexiwhat?! ... It's knowing the history and the colours of the flags of the world).

I'm a Flag Maniac! :D (=> Brrr. Creeepy!)

During Summer 2002, I worked at the National Swiss Exhibition. I met over 80 co-workers and as we had to spend time on a exit or security position with one or two other people, we organised a so-called University. Each of us was teaching about a subject for 30 minutes and receiving lessons for the other 30 minutes. Was great fun, learned about crazy things. And went to bed each night a bit less dumb than the following morning when I woke up :)
