About Me

I am a Christian wife, mother, grandmother, retired schoolteacher who still tries to teach when possible. I have four adult children, three sons and one daughter. I have 13 grandchildren. Though 73, I think young, love youth, love to travel, love to meet others from other countries. We have hosted students from all over the world. I have traveled to five continents, Europe, Asia, South America, Australia and live in N. A. My heart and soul desires to go to Africa as I dedicated my life to be a foreign missionary while very young. My number one goal on my bucket list is to go to Africa. I love the Lord and He is in charge of my life. I am definitely offended if someone uses my Lord's name in vain.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because it is an interesting way to meet people, a wonderful way to experience a location and that is to live with a local. Many have warned me about opening my home because of the sad state America is in but I still believe most people are special. and good. When someone visits my home, they will be treated as if they are a member of the family.

Interests

I love traveling, reading, watching reality shows, am very conservative, love the country, fishing, swimming, boating, eating, watching people, occasionally shopping, having company, playing cards.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy most music, do not like acid rock nor rap music with curse words. I have spent the last few years reading the Bible for each member of my family and one for each of my grandchildren. I will finish my 17th Bible tomorrow. Then I will read historical novels, romance novels, or almost any book that is considered decent.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived cancer, broken back in multiple places, eight broken ribs in multiple places, and turning a car over four times. From a poor family and being able to travel to five different continents is a great thing I have been able to do.

We have hosted students from all over the world and fostered foster children.

Teach, Learn, Share

My culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Netherlands, Philippines, Taiwan
