About Me

CURRENT MISSION

looking for my shoes to walk down to the pub...

ABOUT ME

I am currently living in my hometown in that odd in-between period between college and graduate school. I am not sure yet where I'll got and what exactly I'll study. Or what I'll do after that...

I have been asking all my friends "what should I be when I grow up?" Any suggestions?

My interests are quite varied, including topics such as gardening and local-sustainable food production, creating sustainable energy from "waste" sources (methane digestion, algaeculture of wastewater, etc), international development, social justice concerns... I'd like to do something which uses these interests.

Maybe I'll never grow up. That'd be nice...

PHILOSOPHY

Quit your job, travel, couchsurf, and MEET COOL PEOPLE!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I drove around the Southern US this winter and stayed with some great people along the way. I am pretty open to hosting but work quite a bit... I am more available on weekends. Also, I don't have a computer so your best bet is to contact me several days in advance.

Interests

My hobbies include board games (Settlers of Catan, Risk, Axis and Allies...), black and white photography, hiking and camping, cooking with friends, listening to and discovering music, and much much more. Stop by, I'd love to do any of these with you!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Oh, where to start? I read War and Peace this past summer, it was amazing. My favorite authors as of late include: James Duncan, Wendell Berry, those great Russian authors (Tolstoy, Solzhenitsyn, Dostoevsky)...

Music: Somewhat varied as well. I don't usually put "labels" or "genres" on my music... some of my favorite stuff would probably be considered independent. Including groups like: The Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Ryan Adams, Uncle Tupelo, My Morning Jacket, Modest Mouse, Neutral Milk Hotel, lots and lots of Wilco... Iron and Wine, Calexico, Ray Lamontagne...

Of course, plenty of the good old stuff too: Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, The Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young...
