About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To seek harmony within myself; to manifest my dreams; to practice gratitude; to cherish the moment; to relish life
ABOUT ME
I am a dancer. I love art, music, hula hooping, free thinking, ideas, philosophy, science, discussion, sustainability. I appreciate the mind as much as the body.
I have been living in the Bay Area (first San Francisco and now, Oakland) since the Fall of 2009. I love it here and want to live here forever.
I am beginning a post-bac pre-med program at Mills College in Oakland this Fall (2011). I've always wanted to pursue a path in medicine and the mind sciences. I hope to become a neurologist or psychiatrist and to study neuroscience. My dream is to help people through life-changing neurological/psychiatric injury/disease, and guide them to recovery.
PHILOSOPHY
There is no Wisdom without Wonder.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I LOVE MUSIC! I am obsessed with dancing. I am ALWAYS up for a dance party. ALWAYS.
Movies: I love watching a good movie but I usually opt for doing something active or social instead. Favorite movie: The Big Lebowski. Don't enjoy horror films (unless they're funny). I absolutely love Planet Earth - the documentary series.
Books: I've read a lot of classics from the Western canon. Lots of philosophy. I love Plato. I also really love Gabriel Garcia Marquez, "In the Time of Cholera". And I love that children's book, "Everyone Poops". It's really adorable, actually, and I'm so going to get it for my kid when I have one. I just started "The Tao of Physics" and love it, so far.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Participated in a Kaohsiung hash race, where we ran through the city at night and saw all manners of urban night scenes from people dancing in the park, to night markets, to classical Taiwanese outdoor theater performances, and more - all in a colorful, whirlwind, 90 minutes. It was like a Fellini film, but I was inside.
Teach, Learn, Share
Dance - all kinds! Hula hooping/ hoop dance. Yoga and stretching. Healthy eating, cooking, herbalism. English, Spanish.
I'd love to learn from dancers, as well as share my skills with them. I'm interested in yoga, tai chi, other body and body/mind practices, as well as recreational sports. I'd love to learn to play drums. I love learning all kinds of arts, crafts, I want to learn how to sew and make clothes and costumes. I am also open to learning many other skills that you might be able to teach me!
