ABOUT ME
Currently living in Los Angeles, just to get a look at this part of the U.S.. 3 years later, I'm planning to start my own catering business, possibly in Bay area.
Until 2012, I mainly associate myself as a musician. Ever since I started touring with bands in 2003, I found that I MUST leave FL at least once a year. 2007-2010 I played sax in a traditional ska band, the Duppies.
but I also LOVE playing bass and guitar, surf, punk, folk, blues etc. I usually share my bed with my guitar.
Im known for some of my creative hobbies, making zines, mixtapes, painting, and generally doing my own thing, whatever that is. also known for my baking and cooking skillz. I really enjoy cooking good food.
Im eager to make solid, meaningful friendships, even the kind where u may not see or talk to each other for months or years, but when u do they are true. those are great. I love pen pals and I really love being around other creative people. People say I smile alot.
My interests and resources in the US are drying up, but Im sure I will continue to explore and discover new things. I had great summer in the Northeast last year. I would like to spend some time in CA and Europe ASAP. I have a hard time connecting with most people in my own town. It feels very clicky and monotonous at times. but I usually hit it off with new faces. I can usually spot a visitor a mile away and I like to reach out when I notice someone looking for another friendly face. Ive met some of my best friends this way.
PHILOSOPHY
Do onto others. Recently Im working on "keep it simple" One day at a time. Lately it seems the more I want something the further it gets, haha, life's funny like that huh?
I can be impatient like anyone else, but I really consider myself a patient and accepting person. Acceptance is very important to me.
I believe in taking time and space for self reflection or decompressing, clearing the mind, what ever u wanna call it. I consider myself realistic, but how can I really be when there's so much i dont know right?
I am aware and accept that my feelings or beliefs or what i once knew can change anytime. that goes for everyone else too. I believe in honesty. Im usually unafraid to share my feelings and opinions if one wants to know.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
as a touring musician Im naturally a part of this community. i have always been provided a place to sleep when on the road and Ive always extend my couch to respectable/ low key travelers and musicians when i can. sometimes putting up as many as 20 people, when i could.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
anywhere that Ive ever been was a couch surfing kind of experience. Im a touring musician. Ive slept on a lot of couches (and floors) and when the band cant go, i go somewhere anyways. whereever Im welcome. my first CS experience: I was invited to a CS party in NJ (I wasnt really sure what that meant) everyone was amazing, I had a great time. suddenly I got it. couldnt wait to join.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read ALOT of How-To Books with Pictures :)
A recent book i REALLY enjoyed was the Brothers Neville. seriously. I highly recommend it. Im really into comics/graphic novels and Im pretty much addicted to Love and Rockets. music history and documentaries.
i rarely watch movies. Some of my favorites are: Frida, the Forbidden Zone, Tim Burton, Harold and Maude, Dog Town and Z boys, Fight Club.
A few of my favorite bands are the Wipers, Screeching Weasel, the Slackers... but, I do listen to diverse music. I love Punk, Surf Rock, Trad Ska, Blues, Old Time, Rockabilly, 60s, 70s, 80s, Garage, Jazz, Gypsy, Folk, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2004 and 2005 I did some 2,4, and 6 week long tours with my old band, John Denver's Airplane. We traveled in 2 vans running on Veggie Oil. Hell Yeah!! it was a great time for me to meet all kinds of people and stay all sorts of places in the US. Im really happy to have traveled running on vegetable oil and I continue meeting some amazing people and bands when I tour.
