ABOUT ME

My home town of Port Alexander is a small commercial fishing community with less that 100 people, often less than 50 in the winter. There are no cars or roads. You can only get in and out by boat or float plane. I went to highschool at a K-12 school with less than 20 students and only one certified teacher. I was the only kid in my graduating class.

I built an acoustic guitar with my friend in his woodshop sophomore year of highschool. I have studied classical guitar for a couple years in college but I am not very good. I have taken a long break.

As a commercial fishing deckhand I have killed a lot of fish and sometimes I feel bad about it but it is so much fun at the time. My next 10,000 lifetimes will probably be as salmon who get brutally mutilated and killed in various ways so it is important that I enjoy this life while I still can.

I have two younger brothers who are super-mega-ultimo-badasses. Watching Conan O`Brien together and playing cribbage are our bonding times.

I am a bit of a hermit. I need my alone time and sometimes feel lonely in large groups if I have not had enough to drink. I like small groups of people and one on one time. I can share myself more earnestly.

I have not couch surfed or hosted surfers but I am looking for some places to stay in Japan this November and would love to have people visit me in Port Alexander so I can show them some of my favorite places like the one in my profile picture..
