About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make you some dinner

ABOUT ME

The Earhart Squad met during an off-shore, illegal casserole competition in 1996. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the four infamous women discovered that they had prepared, to precise specifications, the same split pea casserole. From this moment on, the four vowed to turn their efforts from illegal baking to a more noble venture. The Earhart School for Academic Development in Fields Related to Zamboni Maintenance was brought to fruition in 2001. Although short lived, the organization sponsored hockey rinks throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Australia. After a year long sabbatical, spelunking for buried treasure in the coastal caves of New Zealand, the Squad returned to North America. Since their return they have developed some of the most ground breaking techniques in zombie control and hospice care.

So we're pretty goofy. We take things seriously lightheartedly. But since I, Sarah, am the only one who kind of took over the site, I'll tell you about me.

I just experienced my first time to Europe. I spent 2 months studying at Oxford. I spent about a month in London swing dancing. I spent about 2 months traveling as much of Western Europe after that as I could. I spent 6 weeks studying in Aix-en-Provence.

I like to make plans on a whim. I'm up for new adventures and I like to make new places familiar places. I'm generally happy about most things. One of my favorite things is knowing someone, really spending time finding out why someone is the way they are and appreciating them for it.

PHILOSOPHY

Find the beauty in it. Make a list of every beautiful thing you discover.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This particular site has had many lives, I suppose.

A group of girls, the Earhart Squad, started this CS account to visit Montreal for Halloween, but the mission failed. One of our crew (me, Sarah) made it to Oxford for a little academic stimulation and took London by storm, before adventuring to as much of greater Europe as was possible from March 14 to June 13, followed by a 6 week crash course in life at Aix-en-Provence.

Upon returning to Indianapolis I revitalized the CS page under my solo mission, though sharing a house with the other members of the Earhart Squad. We have hosted many a wonderful traveler.

As of July 15th, 2010, I, and my proverbial co-pilot (husband) Joshua, reside in Fort Collins, Colorado, while the remainder of the Earhart Squad still flys in Indy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have been successful couch owners since 1992 when we first purchased our couch, a butterscotch suede ridgeback. With approximately 80 years of combined couch frequenting experience, we feel ready and compelled to take our couching endeavors international.

Hosting in Indy was a fabulous experience, as it is the Crossroads of America. We've hosted music lovers, movie lovers, science lovers, FIFA lovers, and life lovers.

We are psyched to experience more of Colorado and share it with other CS'ers!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1.made a boat, sailed it.
2.got in a plane, jumped out.
3.got in a canoe, paddled 60 miles (against current).
4.played golf, beat everyone.
5.saw two three-legged dogs, cooed.
6.got hit by a motor vehicle, twice.
7.saw a deer, became one.
8.saw Alaskan glaciers, got married (not to glaciers).
9.found rooftop, slept illegally.
10.slept on your couch, priceless.

As for me, I'm the one who canoed 60 miles upstream while leading a group of 14 year old girls and went skydiving over Swindon, England. I'm also the one who went to Alaska and got married to my best friend, Joshua. He and I are the ones ready to host you :)
