About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Who am I? And if yes, how many?
ABOUT ME
I'm a temporarily retired raft builder who took jethro tull too seriously and started living in the past. i.e. the early 70s.I choose to see good things in life and as a result you will see me rarely without a smile on my face, be my face muddy, wet, dry or sunburned.read:let's go frolicking outside!
PHILOSOPHY
when someone else did it, the odds are high you are able to do it too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
CS stands for everything i love. Free, non-commercial exchange of ideas and offering a place to stay. Meeting (international) people, being social.
Hosting adds a random component to the daily life. Surfing offers a local view on the visited area, not just that tourist perspective.
And in general CS encourages to do things one wouldn't on a daily basis.
So what's not to love?
Interests
despite my laziness i am up for anything fun.
HIKES
bicycle rides
ULTIMATE FRISBEE !!!, soccer and other team-sports
all sort of boardgames
hanging around. well, hanging around counts as being lazy i suppose. I like beeing outside but i generally need company to go out and do something. so please, meet me and kick my butt so i get outside more often.
i love watching movies but i can't stand watching TV for long. i consider commercials as torture and a violation against human rights, so i have to rely on "renting" DVDs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Blues is the root!
rory gallagher, deep purple, rolling stones, the doors etc
movies, well pretty much anything, from "the hangover" to "life is beautiful".all kinds of stuff.oh, recently i turned a little bit into a sci-fi freak.but not too much, don't worry.
for books, i like Herman Hesse (who on CS doesn't?),Richard Dawkins and my personal favorite: Matt Ruff.I also like science books, mainly about biology and physics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i found myself in a swim competition with about 100 million participants.and i won!
about 9 months later i was born.
after that event i think building a raft and floating down the yukon river to dawson would be the 2nd most amazing thing.
Teach, Learn, Share
i can play guitar/bass, piano, juggle a little and i can show you a couple of things about camping if you need to know something.
