About Me

CURRENTLY
Enrolled as Master Student in Management Studies at Stockholm University.

ABOUT ME
I was born and grew up in Germany, but since I finished my A-levels in 2002 I left my home country and started traveling. The last 12 years I spent in South-America (Brazil, Bolivia), Spain (Galicia), England (Bath), France (Aix-en-Provence), Italy (Venice), Netherlands (Amsterdam), China (Beijing), Turkey (Antalya), the Caribbean (Trinidad & Tobago), European Rivers (project "Man on the river", where we rowed and sailed from London to Budapest) and Sweden (Stockholm).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participated twice in CouchSurfing exchanges.

The first time was in 2009 when I did a project about music of the Mediterranean Sea, called "Canto Mediterraneo" (www.cantomediterraneo.com). My friends and I we went with a sailing boat from Venice to Istanbul and made interviews to musicians that were living in the countries we passed by. Many contacts for this project I was able to make thanks to CS and I learned a lot from our interviews.

The second time I participated in CouchSurfing was in 2010, when I travelled home from Turkey to Germany by train, after having done a European Voluntary Service in Antalya for a half a year.

Both times, doing CouchSurfing was a very valuable experience for me and I hope to have many others followed.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have travelled a lot, but only little with Couchsurfing. Last year I actively travelled with Couchsurfing from Turkey to Germany after I finished my European Voluntary Service in Antalya. Sleeping at some "strangers" place scared me to a certain extent and still I am quite cautious in my choice of people to contact, to be honest...

But till now I was always very lucky with the people I got to know, I met many nice and warm hearted persons. I hope it will stay like this.

Interests

Learning!

There is a long list of things I need to learn more about...

How the world is set up: politics, world economy, history, religion, biology/physics/chemistry (at these I´m really bad, a "lost case" so to say), astronomy, philosophy.

My pc.

How to sail a boat. I have the "captains licence" (theory) but still i´m not able to guide a boat on my own.

Journalism: interview techniques, video cut, audio cut. Speaking in front of a camera without feeling ashamed.

Music and dancing: learning harmonica is great for traveling + the guitar for campfires, I sang in the choir and played the violin but lost all my abilites... I´d like to learn how dj´s create their music and what a "midi" is. I think salsa is very beautiful, tango is sexy. I am impressed by street-dance and hiphop dancers. Rock n roll looks fun to me. I admire persons with strong body perceptions.

Music, Movies, and Books

"Sorry" from Kyteman is a beautiful among many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wouldn`t say that it is "amazing", but having lived outside Germany for such a long time gave me the chance to experience many different things and learn a lot.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know some things about European projects as I´ve done Erasmus, Leonardo and EVS so far. I could tell basic things about making videos or creating a "basic" website (I am absolutely not a computer scientist!). If you like languages I can explain my method of approaching a new language.

Countries I’ve Visited
