About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy and experience life as much as i can, and support/empower otheres around me to do the same

ABOUT ME

Most days I wake up in total awe and appreciation of how amazing life is and I strive to improve it, every day. I grew up on Punk Rock music, which inspired me to great lengths to become involved in working with my community to improve it. I started learning about activism and as a teenager started to work with oppressed communities to be their own change. Ever since I've been sold on lefty radical activism, which is eventually more or less what I earned a college degree in. For years I worked at a job I loved, helping educate folks about and prevent the spread of HIV through testing and a syringe exchange program. After being laid off I decided to threw my stuff into storage and travel Europe for 4 months. In my "free time" I enjoy going to shows, picnic-ing in cemeteries, watching movies with friends and anything else that makes me feel like I have a place in the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to live my life always with an understanding of how connected humans and other living beings are to one another. With this in mind, it's not hard to remain compassionate and loving towards other folks in the world. My politics tend to lean towards anarchist/socialist most of the time, which leads me into believing that each person knows what is best for themselves, so I think it's important that people embrace who they are and live life to the best of their ability.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted folks in my home a few times through my housemates account and it's always been wonderful. I couchsurfed in Mexico City for my first time, with the most amazing family ever. And on the trip Im currently on, Ive stayed with around 10 people so far and been so lucky to have met them all!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had 4 experiences with folks staying in my home from this website, and and they were awesome. The couch surfers were very respectful, fun to be around and we ended up hanging out for a lot of their time here. My experience would have not been anywhere as amazing as it was without couch surfing.

Interests

Music of all kinds, going to concerts/shows, activism, radical politics (of the anarcho/socialist variety especially), social change, harm reduction, beautiful/old graveyards, my dog, Charles Addams, the forest, ghost stories, vegetarian/vegan food, coffee, travel (of course), beaches, road trips, anything that takes me to a new experience and new friends.
