CURRENT MISSION

To paraphrase one of my most favorite movies (Meet Joe Black):
I want to get swept away out there! I want to levitate! I want to sing with rapture and dance like a Dervish - I want to be deliriously happy or at least leave myself open to be.. I want to forget my head and listen to my heart, because the truth is there's no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not allow yourself to explore and find and love the things that matter to you, well, you haven't lived a life at all. But you have to try, because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived.

On a more less-vague note, I suppose I’d like to perhaps plant a [native] flower, or learn to cook (or at least eat!) a native dish (especially dessert!) from each new region I visit.

ABOUT ME

I love most all music from opera to disco, big band to Bowie, and most everything in between.. I love thunderstorms.. I love old things (especially the 1920s and 1780s).. I love being in nature, especially those special places far from the maddening crowds as they say (I don’t mind puttin on my boots and going on a trek!), but I’m quite content even if it's just the back yard.. aaand I’m 100% a cat lady haha.

I love to laugh and have ridiculous fun, but I also love to just relax and ponder the universe over some tasty vittles/libations. And I love meeting new people! I’m always grateful to hear the stories of how people have really lived- the hardships they may have persevered through, the laughter they have shared, the wondrous places they’ve seen and amazing people they have met. To witness the spark of life in another is truly a wonderful gift!

PHILOSOPHY

I think time on earth is just added up experiences, but I think that “the meaning of life” is about is how you handle them- what you’ve done to learn and progress and share with others to make a better future for you and everyone. I also believe in compassion and benefit of the doubt first - no one knows the whole story at first glance- and I believe in giving others the tools they need to allow them to progress as awesome human beings (aka teaching them to fish), and being a force for good. I am always so much better for embracing what comes- regardless of how hard life has been or will be. After all, no matter how dark the night has been, the sun will always rise the next day. Unless of course it blows up, then that would be a bit of a bummer.. buuut, I don’t think we have to worry about that for a while. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Alas, I’m currently not in a position to offer my couch like I used to, but I will always be available as a friendly guide and contact for this salty city! And in other cases, as I travel around, I hope to be embraced as a welcome surfer!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most of my experience has come from hosting surfers - I’ve met some pretty incredible people, shared a lot of laughs, and gone on many lovely/wild adventures! I’ve only had the pleasure of being the surfer once in California- but that will soon change with my upcoming trip to Europe!

Interests

I love kittens, tasty treats, travel, good conversations, all music, dancing, photography, cooking/baking, scuba, sharks, motorcycles, flying, warm temperatures, lush greenery, flowers, thoughtful design, culture, singing, picnics, good stories, and beautiful moments.
