About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of the world as possible, meet interesting people, and live life to the fullest.

ABOUT ME

It seems the universe has guided me down the path of becoming a teacher. It all started while living in Senegal, where the local middle school English teacher solicited my help in teaching an English unit. I enjoyed it so much that after graduating from UMass it seemed to make sense to move to South Korea and give teaching a real shot. I can honestly say that in that year my students taught me more than I could have possibly taught them, and as a result I discovered that teaching was my true calling. I moved back to the United States, Denver specifically, to attend DU and get my teaching certification. After a year of crazy job hunting and subbing, I've finally landed my dream job teaching ESL in Denver public schools.

Don't be fooled by my profession. I'm semi-serious (when I need to be) while at school but at the end of the day I'm a hippy/nomad at heart.

I love living in Colorado. I've moved 17 times between 7 places and Colorado has kept hold of me the longest. The people and nature here rock and I love introducing people to this place.

While I'm unarguably American, my life has always been a mesh of cultures.

I try to live by these 18 rules:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host and surf quite frequently. Still haven't decided which I enjoy more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I convinced my whole family to couchsurf with me in Quebec. They were open-minded to the experience and had a blast!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning and teaching languages. Not the best disc golf player by any means but I could help you out with the very basics. Also, I'm pretty passionate about teaching abroad and could probably give you some tips if you're thinking of doing that, especially if it's in Korea.
