About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be an ever nicer guy
ABOUT ME
I am a humoristic and caring little guy, thinking a lot about many things all the time. I cannot think of anything more satisfying than spending time with my many dedicated friends, which I do to such an extent that I rarely get to work or study. I love travelling abroad, even if I don`t do this as much as I wish, most due to my student economy. In times of economic despair, I travel around my own fantastic country, exploring new towns, climbing some mountains, crossing some platous and forests, or paddling some fjords. A bit of an exaggeration, some would claim, but still. I am studying political science at the university of Oslo, which is a great place to spend ones weekdays, and earlier I did study history at the university of Trondheim. I tend to visit my home town, Tønsberg, rather often, much because it is nothing less than a lovely place in the summer, with islands and beaches of unimaginable beauty. I some times also tend to exaggerate a bit, but that`s not even worth taking notice of. I am a sincere guy, and like most people already on sight.
PHILOSOPHY
I think one should be able and willing to sacrifice a lot in order to make other people happy. It is better to have a big heart and do ones best to dodge some great sorrows than to have a little one just to avoid the sad things. This philosophy sounds a bit glossy, but I think of myself as a guy who`s not that glossy. Now I got very confused. I think I`ll have a break now. If I was aware of all this writing just to become a member, I would`ve hired a cs secretary.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted some people, but haven`t managed to surf any couches myself yet. I still feel kind of new to this.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been hosting people 4 or 5 times, but haven`t been surfing any couches myself yet. As i wrote two minutes ago. By the way, I once tried to surf across the Oslo fjord with a couch that I had bought on a flea market and nailed a mast with a big sail on to. It sank some seven yards after I had left the shore. Just then I thought about giving up the stupid couchsurfing idea, but I am glad I didn`t.
Interests
I keep myself updated on what`s moving in the society; cultural, political, on various arenas. I love history and literature, geography and learning new things. I like music, and play several instruments, with varying outcome. My main instrument is the piano, I can`t even imagine how to get through everyday life without it. All kinds of social life, from outdoor activities to parties. Beer and wine is good for you. Bear is not.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like many Scandinavian films, because of their extremely intimate interpretations of the characters. I like some American films. And some others. It is impossible to pick a few titles to mention here. When it comes to music, my taste is diverse. Classical music, metal, folk, rock, pop. You just name it, if you feel like it. I listen to almost everything. But I am more of a Belle&Sebastian-fan than a 50 cent-fanatic. Reading books is as important to me as feathers are to a parrot. I`m always into at least four books at the time. For the time being, I`m reading one biography, a collection of short stories, two novels and a documentary from ww2.
