CURRENT MISSION
Biking to the beach!
ABOUT ME
I grew up with in Portland, Oregon, and have spent most of my young life on the west coast-- studying math in Los Angeles, doing summer work in San Diego, vacationing in the Sierras... I am back in Portland for a last summer at home, and hope to spend between now and August having bonfires, going to the river beach, hiking, biking, and generally adventuring.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first experienced couchsurfing while traveling in Turkey, the Netherlands, and Belgium. During my trip, I met several excellent guides and hosts: I shared cooking tips and joined a hiking club in Turkey, was rescued from the side of a highway in the Netherlands, and was hosted at a free party (still not sure what that meant) in Belgium. Having returned now to the US, I look forward to sharing new adventures with CouchSurfers in my home country.
Interests
I read and write whenever I have time, and I am also trying to learn how to draw. There are rivers and mountains close to my house, so I grew up hiking, skiing, and sometimes sailing. I now spend most most of my time outside hiking, biking, or running. Whenever I can get time off school and work, I travel or go on backpacking trips. I love traveling without guidebooks, bargaining for hotel rooms when there aren't couchsurfers around, boxing with my friends, sitting on the river beach after a day of work, and driving through the desert at night.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cutting down a fir tree near my house. I climbed thirty or forty feet with a hand saw cutting a path through the limbs and once I had climbed near to the top I started cutting the trunk. Dropped the tree in four segments, kept the nearby roof intact, and climbed down safely. Arborists live the life.
