I'm a wanderer--I thrive on digging deeper into the world and seeing where life takes me. I prefer to see a new place through the eyes of a local, rather than traveling as a tourist.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've spent a lot of time on other people's couches while traveling with Village Harmony, a world folk music camp, and Northern Harmony, the affiliated performance group. In fall 2008, I spent 2 months in the UK, France, Italy, and Switzerland with Northern Harmony, giving concerts and workshops where we taught traditional music from all over the world--South Africa, the Republic of Georgia, Corsica, Bulgaria, the USA, Ukraine, etc. My favorite hosts were the ones who treated me like a friend rather than a guest--allowing me to pull my own weight washing dishes and helping out around the house. I hate to be an imposition, and I love hearing people's stories.
