Overview
About Me
There are two things I travel for: food and new experiences. But mostly food. Delicious, tasty, yummy food.
I was born in Latvia but was raised and lived in multiple other countries and cultures. To the point that I became quite confused about my background and identity. So I just continue this gypsy lifestyle and hope for the best.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet local people and understand how their lives are.
Interests
I find it difficult to imagine not reading at least one book per month. And that is minimum.
Liking food - I try to cook myself with a variety of results.
- books
- food
- filming
- gin tonic
Music, Movies, and Books
Electronic music, 80-90s rock and some indie bands "you have probably never heard off" and whose names even I do not remember.
There are too many wonderful movies to list. The most recent film to impress me was "Youth".
I was and am a huge fan of sci-fi and fantasy masters (eg: Pratchett, Asimov, Simmons, Martin..) but also enjoy other fiction (Vonnegut, Heller, Dostoyevski, Pallahniuk, Hesse, Murakami..) and non-fiction.
Also I sometimes indulge in reading manga (Homunculus, Monster, Bokko..) and watching anime (there were near to no good titles in the last 4 years :O )
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am not sure what qualifies as "amazing". In my travels I constantly meet people who make my adventures look dim and dry. But here are some highlights:
- dog sledding under the northern lights
- going to Indian weddings. Also going on Indian trains. Living and working in India in general
- getting rescued by the coast guard (well, THEY did the amazing thing. I just sat there on a rock)
- randomly becoming a reported for a radio station during 2012 olympics
- keeping friends I meet on the road
