About Me
CURRENT MISSION
On my mission to conquer the world!
ABOUT ME
Curious, especially interested in old architecture and old relics. I eat very well! (Still, at 30.)
PHILOSOPHY
Keep believing, keep moving, keep pressing on.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'd never tried couchsurfing before, so the very first time I had to look for a place to stay on a visit to Japan (in 2008), I was pleasantly surprised how friendly and warm the community is, and it was a wonderful experience I had staying at the house of my very first host, Jeanette! She went out of her way to bring me to see a tea ceremony, and it was really nice of her.
Interests
I love scenery, and my trips are usually like that -- with a mesh of scenery and culture. I like learning about other cultures and I really think the best way to get to know a place is to talk to and live with the people there.
One of my best experiences was when I stayed with a member from a local tribe in Sapa, Vietnam. I stayed in her house even though it wasn't part of the itinerary, and I had such fun playing with her little kids! Also the stars at night were just breathtaking.

Music, Movies, and Books
I always have fun learning to play new musical instruments like the drums or bass guitar, though I'm most comfortable with a regular acoustic guitar.
Recently I've taken up dancing which has been like stepping into a new world of figuring out how my arms and legs work.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed an active volcano in Indonesia and made it to the 3,726 m summit. (Mount Rinjani, I'll never forget you.)
Canyoning and horseback riding and star gazing in New Zealand.
Learned to surf in Hawaii, Waikiki Beach.
Teach, Learn, Share
I started my Masters in Educational Psychology this year so I'm back to becoming a student! One of my most rewarding courses this year was learning about counselling. I think people have such varied experiences and world views and I would like to find out more about them.
I would love to learn how to cook more recipes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm starting a four month trip around Japan, so I'll be glad to talk about that!
