About Me
Hi! My name is Simon and I have been living in Almeria since April 2011. Most of the time, I do scientific research at the Plataforma Solar de Almeria in Tabernas desert. My topic is solar concentrated power: basically we use large mirrors to boil some water and use this energy for many applications :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have completed the way of Saint James (Camino de Santiago) in September 2013 by my own with a backpack and a (terrible) mountain bike , from Santander to Santiago de Compostela (Camino del Norte). Quite an adventure, looking forward similar trips on other continents for the coming years !
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can host 1-2 persons for a couple of nights (preferably on week-ends) and show/drive you around Almeria and its surroundings, including the Alpujarras (Sierra Nevada) and Cabo de Gata Natural Park.
I like to go out for tapas and drinks in Almeria, practice outdoor sports (for instance kayak, climbing, canyoning), play padel /squash. I also like to spend time at home and try to cook something new.
