CURRENT MISSION

Since spending the winter of 2002/3 in Cuba my purpose in travelling has become getting to know the locals.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and meet people from different cultures and couchsurfing has enhanced my travels and home life.

All my life southern Europe was calling me and in 2013 I moved from my native UK to France, whose people I still love. But the Mediterranean was calling me even louder and in January 2017 I arrived on the Andalusian coast. I feel fully at home here. I feel truly southern European.

I have a spirit of adventure, so couchsurfing suits me perfectly. I like the unpredictable, for things not to be too well planned in advance. I work as a part time language teacher and a part time writer, working at home.

Be in tune with the universe. It works. It opens things up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the exchanges, meeting travellers and locals, living like them for a while, getting to know their country and culture.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to travel more than host. Now I host more than travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travelled first to Italy, France and Spain, where all my hosts and hostesses were wonderful. Later to Madagascar, Turkey and Macedonia and more recently to Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Thailand. Everywhere I've met lovely people.

Interests

Travel, music, walking and the outdoors. I sing in a choir and write novels.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classical music and some rock, films with a story and well-written books. And I know lots of French songs by heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a winter in Cuba, travelling the whole length of the country, living like a Cuban.

I love learning and teaching and will never stop. Sharing is no. 1 prize in life.
