About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Haha, To skate through life with style and grace.
ABOUT ME
I am a recent engineering graduate, and for the moment a blessed slave to the family carpentry trade. I live with a group of friends in a small town in the very south of Maine. I am young and spirited in good company; and a sucker for adventure in that sort of company. I love the ocean and have dreams of spending some days at sea. I'm Currently pondering a direction, most likely to be determined by an employment opportunity, as is often the case... maybe moving again soon, we'll see where the wind takes me.
PHILOSOPHY
Rage against the dying of the light.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am still fairly inexperienced with the network. But I am meeting more couch surfer people all the time. Friends and friends of friends who are surfing all over the place. After my latest trip to Europe I am feeling indebted to couch surfing. I had great experiences staying with kind and welcoming people that really made my trip great. Now I am feeling like I need to pay it back. So I am hoping to host people here as often as I can. I updated my address recently to my new house that is in town. I think this will be a place that is easier for people to get then my last house.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A little, so far so good.
Interests
Outdoor fun; cycling, Soccer (sorry, futbol, i know we're the only ones who call it soccer) swimming, surfing (I am heavily addicted to surfing despite not having the best surf conditions here in New England, The water is near freezing and we wait for winter storms to throw waves at us, then paddle out in the most ridiculous of conditions, It's dumb I know, but i love it). i go to yoga once a week.
In the summer I am usually Lending a hand to friends and family working in their gardens. I am a fanatic of homegrown eccentric engineering projects, most recently a pumpkin launching trebuchet with my brothers. My studies at school centered around renewable energy projects, and I am always reading about and dreaming up new energy schemes or reinventing old ones. I am always up for a cup of tea and some good conversation, from new chemistry theories to poetical inventions and everything in between. At least a couple nights a week I'll find myself together with friends cooking a community meal, and for those with the patience some musical activities are usually in store.
I went rock climbing yesterday, so good.

Music, Movies, and Books
I recently re-watched the big Lebowski, "the dude abides". I usually cant get into movies. I like some old japanese samurai films. Hoping to find more films that don't bore me to death and leave me feeling like I just wasted two hours of my life.
I have been obsessed with The Tallest Man on Earth for too long, its time to move on. Before that it was a lot of andrew bird, and jason webley. Beirut (so good). Casey dienel's wind up canary album (ever heard of it?)
I keep reading things by Leonard Cohen. I love his music, who would have known the guy wrote books too. I cautiously recommend them, they are not for the faint of heart... power, beautiful, terrifying.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Played futbol with a bunch of kids in a small Nicaraguan village.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to learn spanish. I know a little but still have a long way to go. Now I am also thinking more about swedish. And dreaming up schemes for a trip there, a return to the place of my heritage.
