About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to be a nice person to the people I meet around the world and to keep up my curiosity about life.

ABOUT ME

I was a student, now 23 years old, born in Silkeborg, and moved to Copenhagen to study at Roskilde University after I graduated from high school. But I quitted my studies because I wanted to travel my youth away instead. It's my 4th year of traveling now.

First of all: I LOVE to travel. Don't get me wrong. Traveling has become a lifestyle to me and not just something I do to get vacation from everyday life in Denmark. Cause I don't have such life to escape from.
It started as a gap-year trip but now I'm in my fourth year of exploring the world. But I don't want to be a vagabond if that's what you think. I travel to learn about life and other cultures and to meet people. I do shave and I do cut my hair, haha.
When I travel I am more sensitive, I am much more creative, I believe much more in my ideas and dreams. And I dream a lot more. To me traveling is music and different grooves; traveling is tasting food, it's reading books; It's about being alone, it's being with plenty of people. It's the feeling of totally freedom, It's about not worrying about the future but to live your life happily.

I have a sweet mother and a strong father and two sisters (20 and 26).

I love to play music. I have played the drums since I was 9 years old. Now it's difficult to find the opportunities and time to practice as I'm always traveling, so I just started playing the guitar. Now I bring guitar with me if possible.
I also play a lot of soccer - I enjoy sports and would describe me as pretty fit.
I do not drink alc. sooo often, as sport and alc. is not such a good combination. But I enjoy to get drunk once in a while :)
Also I love to cook. I do it every day when in Denmark. My mom learned me.

I find hitchhiking exciting and tried it all over the world. Last time was from Copenhagen to Freiburg (South Germany) and Colmar (France).

I LOVE to talk to people from abroad - SO interesting and it puts your life to perspective.

Safe travels, and see you out there!

PHILOSOPHY

For me it's not about the amount of countries visited nor the tourist-highlights. It's about having a great time with the people I meet. And about dreaming. I want to live like the animals of the Madagascar cartoon movies. And I believe I've come to a point where I live my life so.

I believe that as long as you are curious, you will always learn new stuff and get extraordinary experiences in life. It's my curiousness that has brought me through all these places.
In my daily life (when traveling) I try to do what I like to do and what makes me happy. I met people who spent their whole freakin' life earning money, and the same people sitting there too old and too weak to see the world. I don't want to be such one. I want to have something to think back on, some stories to tell my grand childs. I want dreams that makes me smile.
Also I believe that everyone has something to give. No matter who you are.

If we all (except from gangsters) open our doors we could learn so much about each others cultures, food, interests, sports, music, history etc.

BE CURIOUS! As long as you are curious, you will always learn new stuff and get extraordinary experiences in life.

I do never go to bed if I'm angry because then I sleep very bad and have crazy nightmares. I prefer 8 hours of sleep too :)

I try not to read Franz Kafka too often (they make you depressed) even though I love his stories. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am open to host people on my couch when in Denmark. Otherwise I can maybe offer your a single bed in a hotel room somewhere!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked as travel writer together with danish girl. We traveled for almost 5 months and could do whatever we wanted to. They would pay everything: food, accomodations, flights (they planned the route), bungy jumps, heli-flights, surf school etc.. We just had to write about it and capture pictures.

Traveled around more than 50 countries.

Worked and lived in Indonesia for a half year. I was controlling the QC department in a furniture factory.

Lived in NYC for two months while my older sister studied over there.

Hitchhiked through Germany and France in winter as I quitted my studies to go traveling.

Played a lot of concerts with my old band. Check it out at: www.myspace.com/tellyourvision

All the warm hearted people out there who have invited me for a drink, invited me to their home or helped me finding my way to the next destination. You guys are amazing! THANK YOU.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn more every day. About the world's history, about YOU, about personal development and new card games. I can teach you music, all about soccer (also how to kick a ball) and other sports, quite a lot geography, I can tell you many good stories from many different countries with many different people and then I can learn you to cook and to eat - a lot!
Hopefully I can inspire you. And I know YOU can inspire me.
