About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find new and innovative ways to have fun, while being mindful of our limited time on Earth.
ABOUT ME
I suppose I inhabit many versions of my being, like many of us do - depending on where I'm at, who I'm with, and what my circumstances are. For that reason, I've always found this section both reductive and somewhat isolating, but for all intents and purposes, here are some quick facts:
- I am a part-time filmmaker, tech writer, and full-time navel-gazer. Since my late teens, I've wandered quite a bit, and, honestly, small talk now feels a tad tiresome (so I'd appreciate if you have a beefed up profile - or at least remotely informative, so we can spare each-other basic life details).
- Couchsurfing? Absolutely love it. It’s been my window to cultural exchanges for about 15 years, give or take a few breaks. I’m all for truly connecting with my guests rather than just offering a crash pad. So, fair warning, I’m not much for one-night stays – unless it’s an emergency, of course.
- A quirky fact: I’ve only ever hosted people in the house where I grew up. It wasn’t really planned; it just happened and somehow feels right; for me, it echoes the community spirit of Couchsurfing.
PHILOSOPHY
“I see it all perfectly; there are two possible situations — one can either do this or that. My honest opinion and my friendly advice is this: do it or do not do it — you will regret both.” - Either/Or: a Fragment of Life, Søren Kierkegaard
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm open to showing guests around and possibly hosting. Since I work from home, weekends are generally best for me, though I remain flexible and decisions are often based on my current mood and availability. If I happen to decline a hosting request, please know it’s nothing personal; it may be due to time constraints or simply not feeling up for it at the moment. I also recommend reading the information in the "My Home" section before sending a request to ensure a good fit.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been on the site since 2008, and have forged lifelong friendships. Although my activity has waned in recent years as I was mostly going to school, living abroad, and/or traveling myself, I'm eager to reengage with the community and help keep its spirit alive.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Standing in the middle of nowhere in the Wadi Rum at 19 and it felt like the source of all restfulness on earth; the stillness of it, so vast but in no way uninviting - it was somewhat idyllic, even if i loathed the scorching heat. I want to go back.
Teach, Learn, Share
