I rather think you can find out better about someone in a conversation :).So,my motto: go out and find out,meet and see and perceive; get lost to find yourself, and to find others, who share some same ideas and dreams with you.
I like the idea of couchsurfing, its something so different than hostels. meeting people in their homes and their familiar environment is a really nice experience i think. It also gives the city you are travelling in a face, and makes it much more colourful!

I also loveeeee to meet new people and be amazed by them! i like to laugh a lot and just have a great time with people :)
