About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Having broken my arm, my current mission is to do a one handed pull up. Aside from that relatively insignificant goal it comes down to meeting strangers. New faces and voices open up the mind to new ways of being and becoming.
ABOUT ME
I be digging on mostly anything outside. I grew up in the woods, hunting mushrooms and making up names for cliffs we used to climb at the nearby reservoir. I rode a bike not knowing it didn't have breaks and had to crash it into the neighbors mulch pile. Mulch and hay are fine places for sleeping. I occassiionally enjoy imbibing the local flavors wherever I am, but like to keep the intoxication within reason. I don't want to talk about me. How are you doing?
PHILOSOPHY
Don't overdo it on personal ethics or Mill's science of happiness. Rules and too much time spent evaluating one's happiness ends in dismay, but at the same time don't let that lead to callousness. My feeling is that if you haven't been to Piedmont, West Virgina Go!!!. And after that keep going.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I often battle,as many do I think, the tendancy to believe that only those with well laid plans end up in destinations to their liking. The circuitous route, although it may sometimes be riddled with gravity and confusion, lends itself to some of the most rewarding experiences. Couch surfing, be it less up to the stars than simply surfacing randomly in a new town, provides a chance to immediately dive into a place with support from those within the local community
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am a newby to the world of couch surfing. My only experience was staying in Halifax, Nova Scotia for a few days with some friends on our way home from Cape Breton. We were treated kindly and were entrusted with a key to the second story apartment. It felt good to foster that trust.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Trying to quit the screen, but I liked Sophie's Choice, Dark Crystal, Cool Hand Luke, Ninja Turtles: Kill your T.V!!
Music: Used to be big into Phish and Grateful Dead in younger years. I still like, but now scope is more broad; Shakti, Radiohead, Railroad Earth, mo town, Toni Toni Tone, anything really.
Books: Steinbeck; Bill Carter's Fools Rush In, Chuang Tzu, Nietzsche
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Camels in the city, camels, camels, camels...............................................camels
Teach, Learn, Share
Stop your bicycle before trying to put on your jacket. If you are trying to raise a pig, try backing it up in a van straight to the dumpster and then picking it up in the morning. Make sure you have the trash truck's schedule down first.
