About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am currently trying to prepare to do home swapping to enable me to be in a locale for more than a minute and enjoy and experience a new place as if I was home.
ABOUT ME
Somewhat bohemian, but comfy in most settings; somewhat educated, but an ingenue regarding that which I don't know yet but would like to; somewhat curious and very loquacious "flower child posing as a citizen"...(quote attribute to my friend Tenace) with a love of travel and adventures of the heart and soul, typically experienced in less typical ways and places.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life passionately, quietly but poetically, breathe breath deeply and richly and ponder the meaning of it all while enjoying the company of others or the solitude I've come to appreciate.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hmmmm, my experience has been limited to a series of foreign exchange students who lived with me over the years from Italy, France, Switzerland, Hungary (twice), and Brazil (who now would like her husband to come and live with me...lol...I said she should keep him but trade homes with me, so we are exploring that idea, currently)
Interests
Home swapping has captured my attention and I'm exploring some options in that regard.
- dining
- flowers
- traveling
Music, Movies, and Books
TITANIC, because we were in it (yes, the film)...not ON it (the ship, I'm much too young for that, lol)...
Kahlil Gibran's THE PROPHET, for the lessons of life it shares and the drawings created to depict them; Persig's ZEN AND THE ART OF MOTORCYCLE MAINTENANCE (and I've met a number of those referred to in the book when I married a sculptor and moved to Bozeman, Montana, where the author had been a professor at MSU...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've written a letter and placed it in a bottle in Venezia, Italy which was sometime later found and responded to...I've had MISSED CONNECTION PERSONAL ad written about me which I found on my own in a periodical I'd never seen nor read before...Life is like that for me...and I love it for those lil surprises. I've also raised an amazing child to confident, creative and curious young womenhood who is in her second year of college.
Teach, Learn, Share
I wish that I could put on a beret and be able to speak french fluently...lol...or speak/understand the language of the place I travel to or the foods I dine on...
