About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Figuring it out

ABOUT ME

I change paths on a frequent basis

PHILOSOPHY

"if it doesn’t come bursting out of you in spite of everything, don’t do it. unless it comes unasked out of your heart and your mind and your mouth and your gut, don’t do it... if you have to wait for it to roar out of you, then wait patiently. if it never does roar out of you, do something else."

"you got to look outside your eyes
you got to think outside your brain
you got to walk outside you life
to where the neighborhood changes"

"Let go of what you think you know"

"My mind's such a sweet thing / I wanna do everything / What a beautiful feeling"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been fortunate enough to couchsurf while I was in South Korea, Ireland, London and Germany. I have also been a host in Arizona and while I was living in Dublin, Ireland.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had nothing but positive experiences. I have met many interesting characters and generous people who have opened up their homes to me and shown me all around their cities, towns or surroundings. I am a firm believer that Couchsurfing is really the best to use when traveling, because it allows you to get acquainted with a place in an entirely different way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is rather subjective. I guess one would be: moved out of California and quit my jobs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my knowledge/skills, to varying degrees, in: writing/editing, photography, some photo editing, cameras, wildland firefighting, organic farming, teaching English, gardening, composting, vermicomposting, planting things, guitar, piano, Japanese and Spanish (rusty), sewing, backpacking, hitchhiking, running/marathon training, Taekwondo, bicycles/bicycling, WordPress, yoga, culinary exploration (esp. vegetarian/vegan/oil-free), cooperative living, solar cooking and music.

I still have much left to learn and experience regarding all of the above; I would like to teach and continue to learn as well.

I created a blog that covers my experience living in Ireland and traveling through Europe during the summer of 2010. If you are going there (namely Ireland, London, Germany, Finland or Spain) you might find it useful: http://jennjacquelyn.tumblr.com/

What I Can Share with Hosts

Excellent guest-ing skills, including but not limited to: conversation, cleanliness, consideration for others (especially hosts), low maintenance, compassion, cooking/baking. Also anything from the category above.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Guatemala, Peru, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
