ABOUT ME

In 2005, I left the rat race, horse, Land Rover Freelander, apartment, friends, family and virtually all my worldly possessions behind to embark on an adventure for which I was unprepared, but bound and determined to pursue. It all began in Daejeon, South Korea and since that time I've lived and/or traveled within twelve different countries. I never planned on traveling this much; it's just worked out this way.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't follow any mainstream ideology, theology or philosophy and haven't belonged to any religion or dogmatic beliefs for over 20 years. However, I am content in my new age beliefs: we were created by energy; we are energy; and, the universe is energy. There are different forms of energy - we don't all come from the same source. Some of us come from a positive light force and others come from a dark (evil) force, but most of us come from energy that is somewhere in-between the two spectrums. When we die, we return to the energy from which we came. This is the spiritual realm that has little care or concern for the physical (or emotional) realm that humans are concerned with on this planet. When we die, we no longer maintain physical sensations that we obsess about – we give up the good with the bad and return to our purest form of ‘life.’

I'm new here. How should I participate? Suggestions anyone?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a career in Marketing Research for the media that I left behind. I spent years going to designated homes of people all over America who were paid to give me their opinions. I would sit on their couches and listen to them talk for hours and hours.

Sleepovers? I was invited to a home in the Appalachian mountains of Eastern Kentucky where I stayed the night and became good friends afterwards. They were complete strangers whom I met at a horse auction in Lexington. It's worth mentioning that folks in that part of the world don't take too kindly to most strangers. Ask me about that!

I got invited to stay with a Saudi family in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Their home was a palace! Their hospitality was incredible. I will never forget them... stayed two nights and two days.

Interests

STRANGERS! I like to meet new people!
Animals! I especially love horses, cats and most dogs.
Travel! It gives me a chance to meet new people, see new animals and visit some great places.
Conversation! I love to have good discussions, especially when we don't always agree!
Research! I love to get to the bottom of a story. I easily get absorbed in something I'm very interested in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are just so many, I don't know where to begin.
I was kidnapped and held hostage along with about eight other people... looked down the barrel of a loaded semi-automatic gun pointed right between my eyes. That was certainly an amazing experience!
