About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning from other people and their cultures.

ABOUT ME

I am open-minded and love to meet and learn from people from different walks of life and cultures.

I have been a professional singer for about 20 years; I love my job and feel blessed everyday from the opportunities it has given me, like travel. I work a lot now on cruise ships and I try to fly to places early so I can enjoy the city for a few days before I join the ship for my work.

Sometimes I do voice overs and work as a presenter for various companies.

I love Brazilian culture and I am (slowly) learning Portuguese (I am crap at it, but enjoy trying).

I don't go clubbing and I like loud bars where you have to shout to be heard... not my scene. I like a drink, but in moderation. I love trying local food and enjoying good dinners with fun, interesting, outgoing people.

I enjoy photography, architecture, films, music (mainly jazz), food, writing and reading. I like to keep in shape and take care of myself so I try to eat reasonably healthy, but it's always a battle!

PHILOSOPHY

Be kind and treat others as you hope to be treated yourself. The golden rule.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now my work takes me away from home for most of the time, so I am not often around to host. I will in the future though. Things always change.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am pretty new to Couch Surfing and have only been hosted twice, in Brasilia and Buenos Aries. Loved it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled a lot with my job and am lucky enough to have experienced a bit of over 60 countries. Highlights include diving with Manta Rays in Hawaii, walking the Great Wall and feeding black bears in Beijing, a cage dive with Great White Sharks in South Africa, eating home made dumplings in a tiny restaurant in Manila and trying balut (don't ask, I love trying new stuff, even if it makes me sick), hand-gliding in Rio, hunting for fossils in Lebanon, horse trekking in Petra, hanging on to the back of a motorbike in Saigon’s rush hour with a massive suitcase balanced on my knee, walking with penguins in the Falklands, diving with sharks in Cape Town, taking a helicopter to the top of an Alaskan glacier.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know: English, performing, singing, stage-craft, creating shows, and scuba diving (a bit).
