I am passionate about art/music, but mainly when it is convulsive, ritualistic, captivating. Love camping and being outdoors, reading, good food and wine, colourful people and places with secrets and stories

MUSIC: I play piano and some gypsy flamenco guitar. I write music (mostly in the contemporary classical genre, but can do other things, including a bit of jazz)for performance or sometimes for amateur film or theatre. increasingly I am drawn to folk music from around the world, - something about the collective authorship adds extra currency, a more concentrated 'essence' of whatever humans are i guess...love (real) flamenco and arabic and african and north indian traditional music.

literature: better read in poetry than fiction. love Lorca, seamus heaney, Breton and the surrealist poets... Hughes... Reading a Paul Bowles novel at the moment, also enjoy non fiction if it relates to religion philosophy or (sometimes) science....
