About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have respect for myself one others, see the best in others and strive to be the best version of me that I can possibly be.

ABOUT ME

I've travelled very extensively all around the world and I've discovered so much kindness in people. I've been living in SA for almost 10 years now and have 2 kids, a dog, 2 cats and 2 cockatiels. I'm interested in people who defy convention and march to the beat of their own drum.

PHILOSOPHY

The world is our fantastic gift to be enjoyed, respected and explored. Appreciating our differences and approaching life with curiosity and joy is the most rewarding way of living. Challenging the status quo and knowing that there is always another way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm a home-body now with two small children so I don't travel as much as I used to nor meet travellers as much as I'd like to. So instead I invite the world into my home so that I can meet the kind of people that I enjoy meeting - travellers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couch-surfed myself once in Australia and enjoyed the open generosity of the couch-surfing community.

Music, Movies, and Books

Paolo Coelho is an awesome writer. Currently also enjoying Bryce Courtney (who wrote The Power of One) and I read everything from 'Conversations with God' to cereal boxes. I love movies that don't make me scared or cry. I enjoy popular music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flying over the African dawn in a hot air balloon.
Kalahari safari.
White water rafting in India and Nepal.
Riding elephants in Thailand.
Travelling from London to India in a truck.
Paragliding in Turkey.
Rock climbing in Thailand and Laos.
Tubing in Laos.
Safari in Kenya.
Windsurfing in Vietnam.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to do interesting things in the evening rather than just sit on the couch in front of the TV and would be happy to take guests with me if they would like to experience something different. I go to yoga, take walks by the river, trampolining, indoor climbing, ice-skating or to a yoga or meditation class. I like night markets, funky restaurants and the occasional clubbing night out.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a spacious home with a garden, entertainment area and swimming pool. I like guests to feel at home in my home which is very informal and a free place where everyone can do their own thing as long as it doesn't bother the other people in the house. Fortunately there's enough space to not get up each other's noses! I have a lot of knowledge about events, attractions and great places to wine and dine and I'd enjoy showing people around.
