About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Purge my body of the metal I swallowed recently.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy radical art, ideas, and actions. I am my interests which are listed below. My actions are less predictable, but I do what I can to guide them with generosity, awareness, and sensitivity to those around me.

PHILOSOPHY

This is something that changes all the time and that is more or less the point. Fluidity, flux, learning, and experimenting. And, to quote a mentor, "the reverence of anything and everything that might happen".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to live in big beautiful co-op in Santa Cruz, CA. it's couchsurfing profile is here: http://www.couchsurfing.org/profile.html?id=7NXVXXK ; and we were constantly hosting people. Since then, though, I've moved to New York and gotten used to living in closet-sized spaces that don't allow me to host people in a reasonable fashion. I still travel, and I'll still hang out with you if you come by, maybe hook you up with some other places to stay that I know of if you need them.

I love couchsurfers! Let's hang out, skip town, jump some freight trains, or maybe just drink some tea.
I have a strong desire to have meaningful and safe(er) travel experiences to anywhere.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Lived in my car and on many couches when I was 17. Lived in a friend's college dorm room for a year when I was 20. Have lived in co-op and hosted tons of people from all over for the last year and a half.
Living is exploration, and all the better the explorations at the horizons of culture!

A couple years ago I went on a cross-country hitchhiking odyssey with my brother, and miss all of my friends dearly!

Interests

Radical art, radical thought, grassroots community. Some specifics are: music, cybernetics, magic and shamanism, the melbourne shuffle, linguistics and language acquisition, PARECON, martial arts, performance art, pirate radio, and eye contact, but this is a list that will be changing all the time.

My most favoritest NGO is VIA. You can check them out at viaprograms.org

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was able to become a part of the Taman65 community in Bali. It's a grassroots community dedicated to cultural healing, lifting the lid off of mass repression, creating safer space for all manner of personal endeavor, and just having fantastic fun. Really indescribable, but some of the most genuine, hilarious, and impactful people ever.

Teach, Learn, Share

Ideas about history and the future, art, society, communication. The best people to know in Bali (or anywhere I've been, really). The best tools I've found to quickly learn languages and information about/companionship in those languages themselves (want someone to talk to in Russian or Indonesian?). The best tools I've found to reinvent yourself. Tai Chi or Aikido skills and fundamentals. All the group psychology and useful shortcuts I've learned from living in a co-op (getting people to be accountable, converting toilets to gray water, getting free stuff, etc).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I realize most of my profile is still structured from the old CouchSurfing set-up (it looked like this: https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/988261/profile/legacy). But I haven't changed any of it because I think its still all fairly applicable. This might be the area where I can say that I'm not 36, I'm actually like 10 years younger than that. I don't know why it says I'm 36...it won't let me change it...
