About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Gain autonomy and help others gain autonomy from the STATE!...and play with fuzzy dogs = )

ABOUT ME

I studied Anthropology and Gender/Women's Studies at Fort Lewis College. Currently I work full-time at a non-profit in town. I have volunteered quite a bit as an advocate for Sexual Assault Services Organization, and I this last summer I put together a bike-program for youth. After school...I would either like to be a bike-mechanic/ski tech, a naturopathic doctor/pharmacologist, a goat herder, or a bike welder...maybe I will be all of them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just started to work on it = )

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The people that have stayed with me have been amazing!

Interests

I love reading by fires, riding bikes, tinkering on bikes (a bike-mechanic novice), skiing in pow-pow, playing with dogs (probably one of my favorite past times). Actually, I love most fluffy animals/things. I am a chai snob...'cause I'm too cheap to be a wine snob. I love chatting with people over good tea, and I love going snow-shoeing. If you are interested in seeing Durango sites, be careful what you ask for because I will probably want to take you to every random giant cheese-ball and ball of yarn in town (although, I tend to know about the cheaper Durango haunts...). I LOVE dancing and swimming, too (especially hot-tubbing after going skiing, which does not technically count as swimming). I LOVE TEACHING PEOPLE HOW TO SKI...so if you are interested in spending some time at the slopes and need some one to show you the basics, let me know. = )

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books, but to write down certain titles is almost heresy because I have read too many and too many amazing ones. CURRENTLY, I am reading "Everything Matters" by Ron Currie Jr.

Music I like changes according to my mood and the weather, but I pretty much always like good, hearty funk and blues/soul type music, and angry, politically infused rap and hip hop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A baby chipmunk on skis.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Basic Bike-Mechanics, basic-basic Telugu, Skiing to anyone that's interested, random things about anthropological/gender theory and I have a really scary knack for editing papers.
Learn: If you know anything about welding, plant medicinals, goat herding, or advanced Bike-Mechanics, I would be down. If you don't, bring whatcha got.
Share: Chai and skiing
