Overview
About Me
Hi, I'm Jutta, I'm 36, but I guess a bit younger in spirit. I found my home and job in Antwerp. I love this city, especially my neighborhood Borgerhout. I'm teaching Dutch to teenagers. It's a nice job as I can teach, I can organize, there's youngsters, cultural events, etc. Besides teaching I'm learning to play the tenor saxophone. I do a bit of bike mechanics, I swim, do yoga and I love to ride my bike. I go to theater , concerts and the movies about every two weeks.
I should really update my pictures, it's on my to do list, but now you'll have to read and look at old pictures to have some idea.

IMPORTANT: I live together with my girlfriend Inés now, she doesn't have a profile, but some info:
36, illustrator/graphic designer gone java programming, quite geeky and very sweet. I'll (or she) write more soon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like travelling on my own, doing what I want, but I do like company. And I like to get to know other people, opinions, interests, ..
Interests
Bicycles! , Music, Movies, Art in general, Italy, Portugal, the sea, a rocky coastline, water, sailing, good but simple food, my cats Taart and Benny, sometimes my guitar, sitting in trains, cruising in a car (although I think the use of the car should be restricted and everybody should ride a bike in and around town), hiking, bicycle touring, . I like a lot and that's good, broadens my mind, but sometimes I have to learn to do one thing at the time and start acting instead of dreaming.

Music, Movies, and Books
Just to give you an idea: The Coen Brothers; Phantom Thread, Cocteau Twins, Sylvia Plath, Jonny Greenwood, Wes Anderson, Lhasa de Sela (Pajaro); Elis and Tom, The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover; The Red Parts by Maggie Nelson, The only lovers left alive, Paul Auster, Alice in Wonderland, El Laberinto del Fauno; Prince; Hawking; Bowie: I'm Deranged, Deep house, Minimal techno, Freejazz (for a while), Yusef Lateef, The Knife; Fairport Convention, Mr. Punch (Dave McKean), Lula and Sailor; Tilda Swinton, Julianne Moore, Michael Nyman; Max Richter , A Long Way Down; Schubert, Goldberg variations, Arvo Pärt, Loyle Carner; Violeta Parra; Alfonsina y el mar, El Tunnel from Sabato, Patti Smith, Nick Cave, Beach House, Mapplethorpe and I love long saxophone solos that could easily fit in an eighties movie. I tend to see a charm in a lot, if it happens at the right moment.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailing on a clipper between Norway and Denmark and seeing the horizon filled with giant sailing ships.. a magnificent view. I felt like i was thrown back in time.
Seeing Southern Right Whales jumping out of the water in Argentina and hearing them sing while I was just standing on the beach.
Cycling or travelling alone. I'm very social, I think, but I love the solo daydreaming on my bicycle or in a train.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn Portuguese, Italian, German, Swedish, French, lots of other languages.
If you stay for a few days and the weather is nice we can go out sailing on a dinghy (by car to Zeeland, the Netherlands).
I like to learn about welding, flying, ..., books, writers, filming, watersports, furniture design, architecture, bicycles, frame building, woodworking so if you know something about those things: share it!
