About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To get the best out of Vancouver and the people that I come in contact with
ABOUT ME
I have been in Vancouver for over two years. Vancouver has been so good to me but I owe an awful lot to couchsurfing in the early days.
I spent a year working for VANOC (Vancouver Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games). I am now working as an event planning consultant.
I love meeting people and having productive and interesting discussion.
I'm a vegetarian and I'm happy to explain why, but I'm not preachy.
I like putting together Ikea furniture - it makes me feel like I could have been a carpenter or something.
PHILOSOPHY
I don't believe in karma, at least certainly not the western cereal box approach. I don't like the idea of doing good things so you can be rewarded with good things. I think you should do a good thing because its the right thing to do.
Everything in moderation, even moderation in moderation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have started a new life in Vancouver, Canada and hope to meet some cool new people from around the world.
Couchsurfing saved me when I arrived. I would have been in a terrible state without it. I hope that I can be of some use to other people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed for a few days here and there when I first arrived in Vancouver, bouncing between couches and a hostel. I then spent a few months on a couch before finally finding full-time work and getting my own apartment.
One of my friends, who I had met through surfing on his couch, then asked me if I wanted to find a place with him and be housemates. Together we hosted many couchsurfers and met some great people.
Now that my housemate has bought his own apartment, I have my own place again and hope to be able to host a bunch more.
