About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do the dishes, and do them again and so on until it isn't a problem anymore.

ABOUT ME

I think couch-surfing is valuable because you are offered a random slice of life in the form of a guest/host, there is always something to learn or fun to be had...and when the moon is just right, sometimes we get to make friends for real. How cool is that?

Things i love: vintage, dress-ups, nature, cooking with music, pork scratchings, live music gigs, over-indulging, the midnight hour, walking, any natural water source, waterfalls, positive people, getting crafty and making things, river walks, afternoon beers with friends, beautiful songs with a good melody, being alone sometimes, friends, family, animals, meeting new cats and dogs in the street! AND DANCING.

Things I hate: pretension, licorice, spiders, golf.

PHILOSOPHY

There are ripple effects for every word and deed.

the older i get the more i realize the most important thing in life are the relationships we cultivate with those closest to us; friends and family...at the end of everything this will be the only thing that matters. :)

And when we get the chance, WE DANCE.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

To me, couch surfing is like an experiment in accelerated friendship, which is superdooper nice! I have had some great moments in time with 'single serving friends' and also met people whom I'm sure I'll know forever.

For a year I lived in a hectic, rundown London flat which hosted many a couchsurfer, this is how i heard about the project. The I surfed for 6 months around Europe and got to see the other side. Back in my hometown now and ready to host again. :)

Interests

Generally I have some project or another on the go at all times. Love to draw, cook, paint, write long letters, make postcards, play music and find amazing vintage treasures. An obsessive collector of old things.

My Favourite Website: www.postsecret.com

Music, Movies, and Books

The Go! Team, Sigur Ross, Patsy Cline, Bright Eyes, Tarnation, Radiohead, Stina Nordenstam, Amy Winehouse, Iron and Wine, Michael Jackson, old school Whitney Houston, The Shins, Nina Simone, Iggy Pop, Motown, cheesy 80's music. I love music that lifts you into a higher state, so generally it's fresh, positive or ambient. Oherwise it's probably just something whack like vanilla ice! Persistent soft spot for 4KQ 'Cheesy Listening' radio.

Love autobiographies, especially Tuesdays With Morrie. I have given this book to more people than i can count.

I am a huge film buff so i wont bore you with the long list. I love love love movie nights. On the flip side, I am toying with the idea of smashing my tv up with a hammer when i see it again. or maybe i should just sew a cute cover for it? something with buttons and red ribbon... :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Northern Lights, taught loads of kids how to read, organised a Thriller flashmob, couchsurfed a house with 35 cats and 5 dogs!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give free harmonica lessons! Also can teach you how to moonwalk, which is a very important skill really. I want to learn how to wolf whistle.
