ABOUT ME
Co trzeba?
Trzeba napisać podanie,
a do podania dołączyć życiorys.
Bez względu na długość życia
życiorys powinien być krótki.
Obowiązuje zwięzłość i selekcja faktów.
Zamiana krajobrazów na adresy
i chwiejnych wspomnień w nieruchome daty.
i omijał z daleka.
Pomiń milczeniem psy, koty i ptaki,
pamiątkowe rupiecie, przyjaciół i sny.
Raczej cena niż wartość
i tytuł niż treść.
Raczej już numer butów, niż dokąd on idzie,
ten za kogo uchodzisz.
Do tego fotografia z odsłoniętym uchem.
Liczy się jego kształt, nie to, co słychać.
Co słychać?
Łomot maszyn, które mielą papier.
Wisawa Szymborska
Translation of the poem:
What must you do?
You must submit an application
and enclose a Curriculum Vitae.
Regardless of how long your life is,
the Curriculum Vitae should be short.
Be concise, select facts.
Change landscapes into addresses
and vague memories into fixed dates.
Of all your loves, mention only the marital,
and of the children, only those who were born.
It's more important who knows you
than whom you know.
Travels––only if abroad.
Affiliations––to what, not why.
Awards––but not for what.
Write as if you never talked with yourself,
as if you looked at yourself from afar.
Omit dogs, cats, and birds,
mementos, friends, dreams.
State price rather than value,
title rather than content.
Shoe size, not where one is going,
the one you are supposed to be.
Enclose a photo with one ear showing.
What counts is its shape, not what it hears.
What does it hear?
The clatter of machinery that shreds paper.
I decided to change my description as there is also some change in me. I don't see myself through the eyes of others and there might be 1001 different opinions about myself and at this point of my life - I don't care as I am what I am. This doesn't mean that I don't want to change some things. The more I grow, the more decisive person I become. I am a person that gets involved in what I do and when something is in the area of my interest I will spend hours to dig deeper and deeper into the subject. I have a rather complex personality that was influenced by the twists of fate in life. I love the sun and I love people, but with age it appears to me that we need to be more and more selective and stay in the relationships in which we can give and receive. I received a lot of good from some of the people in my life and I feel that I need to project it farther to spread this "goodness" through the world. I am thankful for every happy moment of my life and I think that we need to collect such moments in the diary of our memory, like money for a rainy day (, although after watching "Butterfly, still Alice", I am not so sure that my memory will not evaporate with time....)
I learn mainly from people and people get me inspired to be better, therefore I like spending time with them, although sometimes I also need some personal space - just me and my thoughts.
I believe that a human being is like a chemical that reacts to other chemicals (human beings) with different outcomes. The reaction might be an explosion or there might be no reaction at all. I wish to meet all kinds of people to check it!
Last year I got married (, which makes me "off the market"- hopefully it doesn't mean the same as - leave me alone as I have a still a great desire to get to know new people) but I am happy and therefore I am not looking for the love adventures.
If you want to sleep at my apartment, please remember to put something about sun and sea.
At the moment I am discovering a world of music (rather modern one as after the education in a music school - classical is not a mystery for me). If you want to please me, bring some music from your country that you like and I will try to understand it ;-) and admire.
PHILOSOPHY
I would like to live my life to the fullest. Each second, minute and day, each person to be in my memory.
On the other hand, it is impossible to write here so many words, therefore please define it after you meet me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a very lively and cheerful and open-minded person, interested in different cultures since I was brought up by a Russian mother in a Polish milieu. It might be the reason that I want to know the small nuances of other cultures. I think that people we meet in a lifetime are there on purpose, not due to a coincidence. And I am also here for a purpose :). I like hearing life stories and I would like to write a book with the stories I heard.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My friends invite many CouchSurfers. Thanks to them I had an opportunity to get introduced to the community. It is incredible that people share so many things - starting with experience and ending with a bedroom.
Interests
I am interested in languages and how they shape people's points of view. I like reading and learning new things. I love travelling. Recently I was bitten by a balooning bug but I replaced it for a more lively thing - which is ballroom dancing and high heel dancing (It was quite a show when we dance during my wedding party). After redecorating my apartment I love visiting flee markets (In Warsaw there is Saturday/Sunday - Kolo). I am a fun of beautiful design and I hope one day I can afford everything that is beautiful and very expensive at the same time. I also like economy as it becomes more and more my everyday profession. To be more fit and healthy I love sports, especially going to the swimming pool, yoga, pilates, bicycle, dancing, walking......

Music, Movies, and Books
Recently, I finally can admire Polish cinematography - with the Pawlikowski's Oscar winner Ida and Aftermath by Pasikowski, Gods with a very good actor Tomasz Kot and Body by Małgorzata Szumowska.
I like Woody Allen's movies (Viky Cristina Barcelona, Scoop, Matchpoint),
Saturno Incontro, Four weddings and a funeral (especially the part with the poem by Auden)
Kings of Leon, Adele, Lau, Lana del Rey, Gothan Project, chillout, classical, soundtrack to Drive, Kavinsky, Imany, Beyonce, Shakira (for high heel dancing).
Master and Margerita, Jane Eyre, Little Prince, Lapidarium (Kapuściński), Mariusz Szczygieł, Oriana Fallaci,
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Niagara falls and when a cat is cleaning. Feeling adrenaline of being in new places, when balooning, racing a car. Dreaming (I have a diary of my dreams, but sometimes I tend to daydream :), reading a book/poem and feeling that the author names my own feelings and sensations better than I can do it. Miracles of life and unknown in life. The border between the spiritual and real in life.
Teach, Learn, Share
How to bring joy and energy to life, how to read your palm, how to play the piano, how to cook bigos and pierogi (traditional Polish dishes), how to be half Russian, half Polish, how to balance hula hoop and play Russian game "Duraczok" (cards game).
I would like to learn how to have more time and prioritize. I would like to learn for a Warsaw guide and have the easiness of translating my thoughts into words. I would like to learn salsa steps and how to remember the longer dancing routines. I would like to learn how to be happy and successful and lucky at the same time.
