ABOUT ME

My name is Ally, I'm a pretty open and easy going person. I tend to find the fun in everything, and I'm very good at making a damned fool out of myself. I'm a quixotic person by nature and have a ridiculous sense of humor. I'm originally from Reno, NV, but after bouncing around I ended up in the midwest and stayed to play roller derby for a nationally competitive league..my name was Frenchie BlownAparte. These days I'm more likely to be on an airplane than rollerskates, as much as I miss derby my main focus has become travel. I moved to the bay area a couple years ago and work as a flight attendant based out of Oakland. When I'm not being paid to travel I spend a majority of my time planning the next trip abroad or hopping a plane or two around the country to visit friends. I read a lot, go to an increasing amount of motown dance parties on the regular, am an avid collector of vinyl records, love sailing and the prospect of living on a boat forever, enjoy thrifting old dresses or unique furniture, and repurposing them into something new. I'll find any reason to dance (badly, on purpose), and I WILL make you dance with me. I love to paint, but somehow never make the time to do it. I also love urban exploration, bicycle riding, hiking, and doing as much as I can outdoors. I tend to fly by the seat of my pants.. sometimes literally, mostly figuratively..and always keep a backpack ready to catch the next plane to anywhere. Figuring it out as you go is half the adventure!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I can honestly say I have met some of my favorite, most cherished people through the couchsurfing community. Friends that I still randomly fly to visit over and over and over again, friends that I will answer phone calls from at 4 in the morning just to chat and laugh at life, friends who agree to dress up in ridiculous costumes with me for a night out in their town, friends that hosted me who I then opened my door to just weeks later, friends that I've played nation-wide games of tag with in the most random cities across the country, and new friends that I look forward to knowing as I come up to their doorsteps.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I saw the Queen of England in person once, on her birthday! I've backpacked through Desolation Wilderness in Lake Tahoe, ziplined upside down through the Jamaican jungle, taken a much needed nap at the top of the Sears Tower in Chicago, and was once challenged to a motown dance off by a zombie dressed in tasseled cowboy boots in Kansas City.
