Overview
About Me
I quit my job to travel the world in 2015 with my husband. We traveled through Southeast Asia and Oceania for a year and loved everything about it - trying new foods, being out of my comfort zone, meeting new people, seeing how life is in other places.
We went back to work and quickly realized that we weren't done with traveling so we quit our jobs again and are back on the road!
I tend to pet all the dogs
I'm not a regular nerd, I'm a cool nerd
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing has always been intriguing and I set up an account before but, I've never actually used it.
Recently I started listening to a podcast dedicated to the Couchsurfing community (Surf Memphis) and it piqued my interest again.
I'm hoping to meet interesting people and get a better sense of the city.
It's always a much better experience when you know a local where you can get insider tips on what to do and see.
Interests
Traveling (clearly), socializing and meeting new people, trekking, diving as of late, having a good craft cocktail, searching for the best cup of coffee.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Harry Potter and Doctor Who! I'm big into the sci-fi and fantasy genres in general and like watching campy B movies on the SyFy channel.
I'm a fan of Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and duh, Mean Girls (I can basically quote the whole movie).
Epic TV: Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, West World, Orphan Black.
Comedies: Parks and Rec, Community, Arrested Development, Broad City, Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
I'm into podcasts and I've been listening to Critical Role, 2 Dope Queens, MDWAP, Surf Memphis, and a handful of true crime podcasts.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Slept 5 feet away from a venomous viper in an open-air hut at a remote jungle camp in Borneo.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very open to learning and to me that's the main point of travel - stepping out of your comfort zone and seeing how someone else lives.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can make a mean scrambled egg and can share lively discussions on the best ways to avoid zombies XD
