I am a programmer, sports nerd, TV junkie, pro-wrestling nut, music fan, and (self-proclaimed) funny guy. Sports isn't fun unless you have a team to root for. Manchester United and FC Barcelona are the teams! You also have your favourites in music. Eminem, Metallica, Queen and Linkin Park are mine! I love laughing, and making people laugh. I am looking for experiences to explore new and interesting parts of the world (this is like, a super long-term project that I'm just getting started on). More on me in the next sections!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There's no point in travelling if you don't grow as a person from the experience. And I believe people are a major part of this experience.

I have been a huge introvert all my life, but now that I'm making plans to travel, I believe I have to get out of my shell and meet new & interesting people. And what better way to do that than meeting people in their own hometowns, doing things you love together, and sharing stories, all through CS?

I believe that my first Europe trip this year will be truly fulfilling only if I meet amazing people during the whole experience, and CS helps me do that in a huge way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went off the beaten path for an Indian engineer and joined the small team of a tech startup. Apart from it being a huge learning experience for my career, it is also something that has given me the means and the freedom to do a lot of things I have always wanted to. I sent my parents on a trip to Kuala Lumpur for their 25th Wedding Anniversary, which was one of the most emotionally-satisfying moments of my life. Since then, I have been planning my own trip, and I knew it was my chance to do two things I have always wanted to - attend a FIFA World Cup game, and visit Europe. As a means to prepare for doing such a solo trip, I took time off work and went to Varkala, a beautiful beach town in Kerala, India.

But I know that the most amazing thing I've ever done so far will be between June and July of 2018!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to work on my languages, and maybe learn some basic German, Spanish and Russian. I also want to learn about different countries' sports culture - the sports that are a huge deal, the history, the most famous people involved, and fan culture. Though I'm particularly interested in football fan culture, I have always considered myself an all-around sports nerd and would love to learn about any new sport. In return, I could tell you about the sports culture in India. I would also love the chance to meet programmers from around the world, and look for interesting work to collaborate on. Or if you're looking to learn computer programming, I can help give you a kickstart!

What I Can Share with Hosts

If there are boring tasks you have to do on your computer and there's a way to automate it, I might be able to find a way to help. I can share information about India and how it can be an amazing experience for tourists. And of course, I can share stories and would love to hear yours as well!
