ABOUT ME

Born and raised in the Bay Area, been teaching and playing here in Oakland for a couple years now. Love the East Bay! Lucky enough to do what I love for a living.

In addition to music, I'm incredibly interested in food systems/sustainable development and definitely love to nerd out about that. At some point in my life want to learn how to build an Earthship (basically a house or building that produces all of its own food, electricity, heating, cooling etc, and is built out of recycled materials. Yes, it's as dope as it sounds and it totally exists. Earthship.com).

Always down for anything outdoors, musical, artistic, or just generally interesting. I really love hiking so if you know of any crazy views or just any epic nature I should check out, let me know! Same goes for music, I'm probably most excited about experiencing the different types of music and culture in the different places I'll be exploring :)

PHILOSOPHY

There are so many things in life that one can do (work, experiences, all those things we get stressed about), but at the end of the day Maya Angelous was right when she said "people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” So yeah, I just try and make the world a better place however I can.

Hosting people and being hosted. Preference goes to touring musicians, as we need to help each other out, but I'm also down to help out any other fellow human being!

I've couch surfed on one trip before in Seattle/Portland and it was great!!!

A lot. Let's share some. I really like jazz, funk, psychedelic rock, some electronica, hip-hop, classical, really anything that's good. I was just listening to some Klezmer the other day (check out Bacelona Gypsy Klezmer Orchestra, they're stupidly good). I like all types of books and movies if they're done well.

I traveled for 4 months on a cruise ship as a guitarist. Weirdest and most transformative experience of my life. As amazing as it was (got to see some EPIC parts of the world and meet awesome people from all over the globe), I don't think I'll ever step foot on a cruse ship again in my life. Best way I can describe it was like a floating hotel with a 3rd world island buried underneath and really cheap booze.

Anything musical! I teach guitar, piano, bass, drums, vocals, and electronic production. I can also play music for you if you want me to, or give you a copy of any recordings I've done. I also cook really good healthy food and can definitely cook you a meal. I always love having produce around to munch on so you'll be welcome to that too.
