About Me
Hi, my name is Arria, but you can call me Ari. I'm originally from South Florida, born and raised, but my family is from Jamaica and I used to live there as a child. For the past few years I've lived outside of Florida and currently live/work abroad. I teach English as a Second Language at the university level. I'm heading to DC for a few days for a visa run and I wanted to try couchsurfing for the first time! I was friends with someone who hosted couchsurfers in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan when I used to live there and it seemed like an awesome community!
I'll be in DC from 23 August to 26 August.
Also, if anyone knows how to get a hold of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, please let me know 😅
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to experience a new city through a local lens, so I see couchsurfing as a great way to do that! I think I would be able to see a lot more and experience a lot more through local recommendations.
Interests
I have a lot more interests than I could ever list here. I'm open to learning new things and exploring new places, so what I list isn't all encompassing.
- perfumes
- dancing
- exercise
- movies
- music
- anthropology
- parks
- tv series
- tea
- gym
- languages and cultures
- museums and exhibitions
- site seeing
- amusement parks
- love to meet new people
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would definitely treat my hosts to dinner somewhere in the city, if they're interested. I'm quiet, clean, and don't require a lot of space (I could sleep on the floor if I need to). I'm not the best cook, but I can help clean! I could also provide company in the form of an errand buddy if you need company for an event or activity, but I'm also able to get around on my own 😊
