"Be the fun that you want to see in the world." --CD
ABOUT ME
I dream of having a radio in show on which I get to interview fascinating people. I'm into dancing, laughing, writing, making art, having great conversations and deep quiet pauses. My current art project is making my kitchen wall look like a lava lamp. My main goals are to help people with their spiritual and emotional growth and to see as many sunsets as possible.
PHILOSOPHY
Be the fun you want to see in the world. (see Current Mission)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
The CS project is amazing. I've met delightful folks in Maui, and stayed with an absolutely wonderful guy in San Diego. That was a big leap for me: to stay with a man I don't know. He was awesome. I am looking forward to getting to know more local CSers through Sheila Satin's group. Who knew there were so many really cool folks out there?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm looking forward to meeting some wonderful folks in Maui.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Cintra Wilson and am kind of angry that she has only written three books. I enjoy Beth Lisick, David Sedaris, Sarah Vowell and I LOVED Jancee Dunn's memoir of her years as a Rolling Stone reporter, "But Enough About Me." David Barry's articles are hilarious. My taste in movies and music is really varied. I like things that are well made and either feel good or aren't terribly disturbing. Re. music: La Femme D'argent by Air, the K&D sessions and Music for Airports are favorites. I also like high-energy dance music, as well as a whole bunch of other stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I readied my union of 800 workers for a strike in 2005. Luckily, we were so well prepared that we didn't have to strike. Also, I wrote a guided journal with my mother called, "What's Right with Me." It was published in 2006. Never in my life did I think I would write a self help book. I'm pleased with it, though. I never thought I'd be a subway train driver either, but the older I get, the more enamored I am of stable government jobs.
Teach, Learn, Share
This is dull but useful: I know a lot about public transportation in the Bay Area because I work for the subway system called BART. I can help you find out about other kinds of local public transit as well. I can also hook you up with conscious dance classes and gatherings and bring you to a metaphysical disco/gospel "church" you'll never forget. I am also happy to share what I know about getting a book published as a first-time author. I love Julia Cameron's book, "The Artist's Way" and have used her techniques for years. I can show you around Oakland, which is a fantastic place with tons of great people, good food, sunshine, music and art.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversation and funny stories. Pumpkin bread. Also, I can fix the brakes on a 50 million dollar subway train. So if you've got any that need looking at, I'm you're gal.
