About Me

When I was younger I always dreamed of traveling the world but it wasn't until I joined the military and was stationed abroad as a United State Marine where I truly learned how much I enjoyed traveling and experiencing what more life had to offer. Now as a 27 year old Dominican-American living in Miami, Florida I yearn to return to a life of traveling. After sharing this dream of mine with my business partner, Jonathan "Jay" Collazo, who expressed the same desire of seeing the world. We then began to coordinate and plan a journey around the world. Thus creating the idea behind our Travel/Photography Blog called Can You Wander. I hope with this trip and future travels to not only see what more there is out there but also as a professional photographer to capture my experiences, educate others on the cultures abroad, while inspiring them to go out there explore the world and chase their dreams.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What interests me most about the concept behind Couchsurfing is how it would place me into a region's livelihood where I could learn directly from locals about their culture, history, food and so on. This would further help me understand the differences between their country and my own while also meeting fellow like minded travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I listen to a large variety of different genres including 90's Hip Hop, Classic Rock n Roll hits, Jazz, Blues, Raggae and so on. I'll listen to just about any kind of music as long as it resonates deep within me.

Movies - Again I'm a big film buff but just to name a few of my favorite The Beach, Into The Wild, A Map for Saturday, Seven Years in Tibet, City of God, Under Fire, Band of Brothers, We Were Soldiers, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and I can go on for days but that's just a taste.

Books - First off anything from National Geographic but to mention some novels The Odyssey and by association the Illiad by Homer are some of my favorite stories ever told. The Sicilian and The Last Don by Mario Puzo are some other ones I enjoyed reading and The Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit sagas by JRR Tolkien have always stuck with me as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my time in the United States Marine Corps while on Humanitarian Missions I was able to help rebuild communities in regions of Southeast Asia after storms had devastated the area while also assisting in training foreign military personnel like the Royal Thai Marines and the Republic of Korea Marines.
