About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Defying stereotypes

ABOUT ME

Open and easy-going person, I love to meet new people and new cultures, and I'm trying to be interested in everything in this world (it's not so easy, though...). My real passions are politics and languages. I also love dancing salsa and try to visit salsa clubs everywhere I travel.

I spent 2.5 years studying for my MA in Iowa, where I was also teaching Spanish. In 2010, I moved to Miami (huge change compared to Iowa!) to continue with my PhD at the University of Miami. I really miss Europe and I am planning to change my location again as soon as I graduate.

I also try to visit my home country once a year, I love to come to St. Petersburg, Russia, and see how everything changes. And most of all, I love the feeling of Coming Home (not confuse with Homecoming).

PHILOSOPHY

We can be happy only with positive view of life and openness to the outer world. So we are able to capture more beautiful moments because "Life does not consist of how many times you breathe, but how many time you lose your breath..."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently, I'm participating very little because all my time goes to taking care of my kid, my job and a dissertation that is in its final stage. I try to meet other couchsurfers whenever I travel to get a sense of the local lifestyle and culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Almost everywhere I travel I try to find local people not only to surf their couches but just to hang out or look around with them. I think it's a great way to discover the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Maybe the most amazing thing I've done is to leave my tiny town in the St.Petersburg suburbs and set off for a trip that is continuing until now. I am a permanent student and I'm learning something new every moment. So, every moment is amazing...

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing I definitely can teach anyone is Spanish.
I enjoy learning from other people about their cultures and sharing my multicultural experience.
