About Me

I am a free spirited individual with a mindset to explore new places and meet new people. I mainly chose medicine for altruistic reasons and have volunteered in a lot of places including helping people with Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and for neuroscience research. Besides that, I enjoy socializing and dancing, especially during the weekend .

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always wished to travel more, but never had much means to do so, and I find this a beautiful opportunity to fulfill my dreams while I am still a student. I also would like to accommodate people in my flat, and show them the beauty of daily life and nighttime fun in Zagreb.

Interests

My interests are traveling, meeting new interesting people, experiencing a new city from the eyes of someone who knows all the subtle places and not just the bland touristic presentation of a city that most travel agencies provide. I also wish to explore the underground music scene of cities that I visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books would definitely be any by Douglas Adams, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by H.S. Thompson and books by Orwell/Huxley on the darker side.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saved a life while I was on Sea Dance festival in Budva at 4 am in the morning. I was there with my friend as a participant and was dancing, and noticed a group of people gathering so I went to see and saw someone in need. Although I haven't finished Medicine, I just knew what to do and helped a person who collapsed and had a pretty scary seizure. By the time the paramedics came (which took 30 minutes :/) he was already stabilized and started to regain consciousness.

Teach, Learn, Share

While studying Medicine, I fell in love with the brain. My interest after university is to go into basic neuroscience research to learn new and daunting things about the brain and how it works. I have already dedicated 4 years in that field and plan on continuing. So if you have any questions at all about any aspect of the brain (neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry, neurology and neurosurgery) feel free to ask :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, I have basic medical skills, and anything connected with the brain, and dancing.
